Having read the first version of this book, I was inspired and motivated to apply the SUMO principles in my life. Ten years on, reading the updated version, it rekindles the fire to be proactive and seek goals with confidence and determination, the best recipe for success.What makes this book stand out is that it’s short and to the point, it’s an easy read that can result in big outcomes provided the SUMO principles are applied effectively and successfully.

This book is well organized, concise, useful, and at times funny. It's a very quick and easy read. I like the way the author throws in a "personal stuff" section in each chapter where he illustrates his point with a personal story. I also liked the summary at the end of each chapter. This book does well what it intends to do and I enjoyed reading it. It's not a great book because there is nothing new here if you are well versed in decent self-help literature, but it is a very good presentation of a good system. Recommended.

A little idealistic, but insightful and helpful.

I had to read this book for work. I didn't really like reading it. Not that the contents were terrible or anything, but it was mediocre writing about a bunch of common sense.

I didn't get it, as in what's so life changing about iy. Some very basic CBT ideas (I'm a CBT therapist), some a bit outdated now as well. Perhaps interesting if you have limited previous experience with Psychology based learning

Bought as a gift but I know how brilliant the book is as I have a copy of the earlier edition. I was fortunate enough to attend a talk by Paul McGee and by following the Sumo principles my approach to situations has improved immeasurably.It's funny and informative and all in all a damn fine read. Highly recommended.

Paul McGee is excellent - I have seen him present his SUMO concept and this book covers all you need to know in order to get what you want out of every difficult situation and life itself . I love this book and have recommended it dozens of times. A must have for people with open minds who are willing to look at things from different angles.
