Taking Her to the Door: The day cancer came knocking

Kindness breeds kindness
Was made aware of John from his first book 'Kindness Matters' from working in a similar setting, the book was superb and I'd recommend picking up alongside John's latest book. I picked this up for my dad to possibly help how he dealt with his mother being ill. My dad doesn't read very often so the fact he has read it, is truly down to how amazing the book is.The fact the book is raising funds for such an amazing cause is just the cherry on the cake. Whoever comes across this review or book, I want to thank you all for your kindness and would ask to keep spreading it along.ThanksChris

Authentic and genuine and a huge help in the journey through grief.
I saw John talk about his book on LinkedIn and I swore when the time was right I’d order it. I only wish I’d done it sooner. This is such a poignant, beautifully written story. I simply couldn’t put it down. Having lost my Dad to cancer and never really knowing loss like it, it truly was heartwarming to know that all the things I had thought and felt were normal and that there was light and hope ahead. I was transported back to my own experience, I laughed and cried as I read. I’d highly recommend this beautifully written book.

Raw, beautiful and honest.
A raw, beautiful and honest book which has really helped me as I help care for my father in law at the end of his life. This book has brought me comfort, made me cry, smile and resonate with so many aspects of it. Thank you, John, for your kindness and thank you for writing this book.

Something we can all relate with loved it ***
This is such an incredible story, touching, emotional and a story of a journey that many of us will relate to. Jonny Magee is an awesome person inside and out to be able to bring such positive vibes away from these experiences he has been through... it's a must read 10/10

Sharing the journey
An easy to read book with each chapter taking you on the journey. Written in plain and simple language you can put yourself in John’s shoes as he speaks openly about the trials and tribulations he endured. It takes courage to be so open and commit your vulnerability to print. Having been through similar grief a book such as this is highly recommended in understanding your emotions.

A real insight into the journey of cancer and grief told first hand
Poignant soulful account of John's experience that I'm sure will help so many others in similar situations. I just happen to be the district nurse Elaine's mum and I am beyond proud of the part she played in supporting this family
