This really works for cast iron pans. The round edges of the chain mail links seem to remove the stuck-on food, without removing the seasoning. One thing I like is that it always works the same way, unlike scouring pads, which wear out over time and change the way they work.

Seriously stop using steel wool to clean your cast iron pans and use this chain scrubber. It will cut down cleaning your pans in half. This will take off what the black and red scrapers and cast iron cleaning brush won't take off. I reach for this more often to clean my cast iron pans.

Thing works like a champ for sure. Smaller then I would have liked but it is the size they say. So that one is on me. If I had a chance do it it over I would get a bigger one same thing though it really does a nice job. And the ring to hang it to dry is flipping great get a stick on hook from 3m and poof problem solved

I use it first to scrub down of my cast iron pans that I have hard-cooked, burnt-on crusts. I then use a standard Chore Girl wire scrubber to get the final clean done. I NEVER USE SOAP with my cast iron. This tool saves a lot of time and effort in cleaning up cast iron pans.
