As an early pioneer of the region, our vineyard research paved the way to a greater understanding of what grapes to plant in the Santa Ynez Valley. In 1978, we planted the first Syrah vineyard in Santa Barbara County. Since then, we have been focused on growing Syrah, Viognier and other Rhône varieties, which are best suited to our ocean-influenced climate and complex sandy-loam soils. Made from sustainably farmed grapes, our Rhône-style wines are estate grown, produced and bottled. With decades of grape growing experience in the Santa Ynez Valley, our winemaking and vineyard team meticulously farm our vineyard to focus on terroir-driven wines. Winemaker Eric Mohseni and Associate Winemaker Kristen Bryden show a skillful touch and a commitment to producing classic examples of Rhône-sytle wines with remarkable intensity and balance.
