The perfect way to add an NVMe M.2 SSD to a system with no spare M.2 slots
The build quality is superb. so very simple to setup. everything aligns perfectly and the heat sink is decent. They include a thermal pad, which depending on the M.2 drive that you use, can vary the fit between firm and a bit of a struggle for reassembly. in the end, I used the Netac 700 2TB, which doesn't have too much circuitry bulge. it was a perfect fit, a great drive and runs lightening fast.I can see there are some negative comments here from people who have had genuine issues. I can only assume that Sabrent have improved the design, as i was so impressed with the build quality.Like all PC peripherals, you have to be aware of the added heat, and improve your case cooling if required. Personally, i have a gaming rig with some 5 Cooler Master MF140's plus a 360 water cooler for my CPU, so the added heat made zero difference for me. but it is something to bear in mind.I was warned that using the empty slot would have a speed impact on my graphics card. This has not proven to be the case, as i still benchmark the same, except now i have 2 extra hard drives. giving my system 6 NVMe M.2's now. I did a lot of readin, and where performance does drop, the amount is negligable. Personnally, I am fortunate enough to have a very powerful Asus Rog Strix z790f motherboard. Which i think is the reason why I am not seeing a performance drop. So again, you need to be aware that for older boards, you might have a small drop in performance from your graphics card.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these adaptors to my family and friends, as they are a great way to use an unused PCIe slot.

Work without issue
We recently got some Motherboards on sale that were missing the M.2 slot. Not wanting to have to revert to slower SATA SSD's I ordered two of these. They take about 10 minutes to install properly. You get a little screwdriver included to remove the heatsink, and an array of thermal pads to use depending on the thickness of your SSD.I've now bought a total of 4 of these and they have all worked flawlessly. The SSD's are detected immediately without requiring any additional drivers, and performance seems just as good as if they were installed directly onto the motherboard.Great value for money, allowing older motherboards to use newer storage technology.

A great adapter card for NVMe M.2 SSDs
I bought this adapter card to install an NVMe M.2 SSD on my desktop PC that does not have an M.2 slot on the motherboard. It was very easy to install and set up.The card is well made and sturdy. It has a metal bracket that fits into any PCIe x16/x8/x4 slot on the motherboard. It also has a screwdriver and screws included for securing the SSD on the card. The card has a large aluminum heat sink that covers the entire SSD and helps dissipate heat effectively. The heat sink has thermal pads that make good contact with the SSD surface. The card works flawlessly with my NVMe M.2 SSD. It recognizes it as a bootable drive and delivers fast transfer speeds via PCIe lanes. I did not notice any performance issues or compatibility problems. The price is reasonable for such a high-quality product. The only minor downside of this card is that it might block some adjacent slots on the motherboard due to its size. However, this is not a problem for me as I have enough free slots.Overall, I would highly recommend this adapter card to anyone who wants to upgrade their PC with an NVMe M.2 SSD

Surprisingly good
For the price this is well worth it. Sabrent is a company whose drives I've used before so seeing this from them was a no-brainer. My motherboard has two NVMe slots and I wanted to add a third drive. This little contraption does the job. The build quality is surprisingly good for the price, it doesn't feel cheap at all. In terms of installation it's a bit fiddly but okay if you follow the instructions. It's been running happily since the day I bought it and no problems as yet.

Brilliant product for a very low price
I have installed an MSI SPATIUM M482 SSD 2TB NVMe in this and fitted it in the bottom PCIe x16 slot on my Asus ROG STRIX B450-F. Fitting the drive onto the adapter was very easy and the thickness of the thermal pad, which has been commented on by other reviewers, didn't cause any issues with this particular drive. The MSI SPATIUM (weird name) is a PCIe 4.0 unit rated for 7300 MB/s reads and 6400 MB/s writes and is somewhat over-spec for this adapter and my system in general. Furthermore, the PCIe x16 slot I have fitted it in is PCIe 2.0 with 4 lanes - so the max possible speed here is 2GB/s. Testing with CrystalDiskMark I get 1800MB/s reads and 1700MB/s writes give or take, which is a bit better than I was expecting and more than fast enough for my needs. If you are wondering why I bought a drive that is well over-spec'd for my system - it's simply that I got it for a bargain price.I was slightly concerned that there is no bracket to secure it to the case as you would expect on a PCI card, but it fits solidly into the slot and the locks on the end of the slot hold it well enough so it's fine and there have been zero issues with it.For just under 13 quid it's great value.

worked perfectly in my R530 homelab server to add larger, faster storage for VM images
My use-case is admittedly rather niche, so I was surprised to find that this card worked perfectly for it! I've been running proxmox on an ex-enterprise poweredge r530 server as my homelab project, and I've been using all of the drive bays as NAS storage. Previously I'd repurposes the CD tray as the OS boot, but I needed more capacity for actual VM storage, and I was really pleased that this pcie card worked plug-and-play and let me add NVME storage for my VM images which I spin up and down as I learn new things. The access speed is far better than the circa 300mb/s that the onboard cdrom sata port seemed limited too also.
