Little content, little about beekeeping, rather disappointed.
I'm actually pretty disappointed with this book. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 is because - at least - it has a biodynamic wall calendar I can reference at a glance. That said, I'm still not sure it deserves more than 2 stars. It has very little instructive content and is about as thick as a booklet...not a book. It makes very little reference to what to do with bees on a biodynamic calendar....which is the sole reason I ordered it. Clearly I'll need to search down other resources on how to practice biodynamic beekeeping.

A must have for serious gardeners.
This calendar is my must have every year for my planning of what to work on in my gardens. What days to not do anything. What days to transplant, work on composts, start seeds, propagate, harvest, bake bread or harvest hney.. even which days wines taste best.I win awards for my biodynamic probiotic gardening principles, honey, dandelion wine, veggies, fruits and herbs!

I always have such fantastic success with this calendar
I always have such fantastic success with this calendar. I use it primarily to sow seeds and transplant seedlings, but am curious about the more detailed applications concerning soil fertility and pest control. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that wants to have a deeper connection to their plants and the life forces that affect their development.

Why Not?
I like this calendar so far. I've never attempted a biodynamic garden so I thought I'd try one. I already have a 100% organic garden so I thought why not try the Biodynamic approach and see if I can realize more soul in my soil.Grow ON!

This one is fine and has lots of information
I have been gardening following Biodynamic calendars for years. I thought I would try a new one this year so I bought the Maria Thun version. I much prefer the Stella Natura. This one is fine and has lots of information. I like the format of the Stella Natura. I am sure this is just personal preference.

Planting Info just a page away!
When planting a vegetable garden, I want every opportunity to produce an abundant crop of goodies and this Biodynamic Calendar is my secret weapon. Easy to read, search and find the particular information that I am searching for. I highly recommend adding it to your library.

must have for Biodynamic farmer/gardeners
This is the one to use. I've tried others but this one is really the most user friendly. I like the poster that is an insert in the back, you can hang it closer to your work space, and make notes in the space provided each month.

Following the Biodynamic Calendar really makes a tremendous difference to gardening results.
I purchased this guide/calendar for the first time for the season 2014. I had previously relied on In Tune With The Moon, which is no longer in print. I have also used the seasonal guides by Nick Kollerstrom, Gardening & planting by the Moon. I am absolutely impressed with the results of following the planting times in Maria Thun/Matthias Thun's biodynamic calendar in my gardens.I garden in Calgary, Alberta, an experience which I liken to growing in a desert, near the top of a mountain, next to an iceberg. This season we had 90 days frost free. Anything that provides an edge is gratefully embraced! And I could see a big difference after using this guide this season. The main difference between Kollerstrom's calendar and the Maria Thun Biodynamic Calendar is the difference between the more regular, assigned 'sidereal' star zodiac used in Kollerstrom's, and the bio-dynamic zodiac, where variable periods reflect the actual time spent by the sun in a constellation. The bio-dynamic calendar results in a greater number of days for root crops, but the production correlation and particularly the germination correlation with this calendar is astounding to me.Bio-dynamic gardening also pays attention to the ascending-descending moon cycles, movements of the moon compared with the horizon similar to the seasonal rise and fall of the sun, but differing from and independent of the waxing/waning of the moon through full moon to new moon and back. The moon's ascent and descent affects the sap movements within the plants, and governs when it is appropriate to carry out activities like pruning, grafting, transplanting, fertilizing and composting. It grows in significance the further north or south of the equator and tropics you go, and so is an important factor for Canadian gardeners. While this calendar is not as visually helpful with ascending-descending moon cycles as the out-of-print In tune with the Moon by Michel Gros, the information is accessible in notes alongside the dates.Another plus in my opinion is that the times in this calendar are in Eastern Standard and Daylight, meaning minimal corrections for North American gardeners when compared with other calendars which are often given in GMT/UTC. For instance, I apply a correction of 2 hours to times in this calendar, where the calendars in GMT or UTC require a 7 hour correction. The book itself is thin and compact and easily carried around for reference. As well, it includes an 11" x 14" double sided pin-up page calendar for your wall. The only problem I have so far with this book is with the "moon diagrams" included near the end of the book which have eluded me no matter how many times I have tackled them and have very little accompanying explanation. This is a minor issue in my opinion.
