Pleasantly surprised.
I have a JBJ 28G nano with a metal halide + actinic lights. I am running an SPS tank so I run my metal halides AT LEAST 6 hours and the actinics even longer. My tank was starting to hit 86F when I finally broke down and decided to get a chiller. Most chillers use a compressor of some type and are absolutely massive. I just didn't need something that huge. All I wanted was a chiller that would bring it down to 83F or lower bare minimum. When I received this unit I set it up right away and was worried because it really didn't bring the temperature down much. But overnight as the chiller broke in and the lights weren't on anymore the chiller was able to bring the temp down to where I set it at 77F. When the lights kicked in the next morning, the chiller was mostly able to keep up. By the time my lights shut off at the end of the day the temperature was at 79.5FEven better than I was hoping for. This chiller was able to bring my 28G tank down 6.5 degrees fahrenheit. For the record the instructions say a 30G tank will come down 2-4 degrees F. So this chiller over-performed from where I thought it would. Which is a MAJOR relief because I do not have a lot of space for 'gear'. So the compact size of this chiller is appreciated. If you have a small 30G nano tank or smaller and need a chiller. This one does just enough to be effective.

failed just over a year later.`
worked well until it didn't. based on other recent reviews, seems like a high failure rate. this one was chilling a red sea nano in my office, and was not inside of the stand, but outside, and not exposed to any salt or moisture. looked at it today, and the display is cycling and it's non functional.

Works great till it doesn't.
I am giving this unit and company two stars, one for each failed unit in less than 6 months.I have a 5 gallon jellyfish tank. I bought this as the place I live doesn't have central air and only window units. Temps were getting too high and needed to keep tank at 70-72. Original purchase didn't even last 4 months. It started out flawless until one morning display was flashing, tank temps had jumped, and it wouldn't cool. I called company as it had one year warranty. I had to jump through a ton of hoops and send my unit back for them to "inspect" BEFORE getting a replacement even after showing photos, video. I had no way to cool my jellyfish tank other than ice packs for this whole two week process. I finally got a replacement which worked fine for almost 4 months before it too just stopped cooling one day. They work great WHEN they work, but have high failure rate! I know others who had the same issues, and poor customer service who tries to tell you it's customers fault by getting it wet or this or that, to try and get out of the warranty. It's a small like one person company. Sadly, none of the cheaper ones work well, so I'm just at a loss. I can't see buying another unit at this price to hopefully make it though another summer. Good luck if you purchase.

Cool for applications that dont have any impeding heat sources.
For cooling unheated water, sure. When dealing with things like lights and other heat issues its a big no.

Pricey but worth it!
My 13 gallon tank was always running warm. I use LED lights to cut down heat, but the temp never went below 82 degrees, even if the house was air conditioned to 78. I looked at cheaper units but decided to splurge on the Chill Solutions unit. Works great! Temp dropped to a preset 78 degrees within two hours and stayed there. It’s actually a little cooler than 77 and the fish are healthy and happy. Unit is virtually silent except for the fan when it’s running but it’s a soft whir event at full speed.

Works wonderfully
Very Quiet! Cools 10 degrees or more. Thanks a while for it to cool everything but that is to be expected. This thing is awesome. It is a tad pricey but at least it works.
