Greenworks 40V 24" Cordless Hedge Trimmer (1" Cutting Capacity), Tool Only

This is a great hedge trimmer. Its a bit heavy but soooo quick and easy to reach the higher and farther away parts that need trimming that I don't feel the weight of it for very long because I don't have to stretch out my arms full length and try to hold it steady at the same time. I'm old as dirt, have back, pelvis and arm and leg injuries (arm and leg on left side is pretty bad and hard to hold myself and large tools in position very long. With this I don't have to hold it that long and with the very very sharp blades and the size branches it cuts through like butter without getting jammed, no cord to get tangled and a battery that really holds up for a long time, and being balanced well enough even though a bit heavy, it has made a huge difference in my ability to get the job done. I also had opportunity to have interaction with customer service when the original battery that came with it refused to charge after I had used for hours the first time out of the box, day after day. I mean hours with no failure of power, and then it dwindled slowly. I put it on the charger and it kept turning the red light on. This comes with warranties on the charger, the machine itself AND the battery. Separate warranties for each one but all the same number to call for warranty service or help troubleshooting. After a few minutes speaking with a pleasant fellow who ran me through a few troubleshooting activties and took the serial numbers from battery and charger he advised that the best bet was that it was defective battery so he was sending me a new one, and I didn't have to return the one that was not recharging. He said IF the replacement didn't work, then they would send me a new charger as well. He said it could be five to seven days, it got here in four and has worked fine and recharges fine ever since. I have a couple other Greenworks tools ( a small snowblower with rechargeable battery, and a great weedwhacker also with rechargeable batteries. They charge up fast and I have been very happy with them. Definitely recommend this hedge trimmer. I was afraid it might be too heavy for my weak shoulders and arms and unsteady balance BUT it isn't because it works so well and has such a long bar with such sharp blades the neighbors are laughing at me because I keep working with it well into dusk in the evening, its such a pleasure to be able to get my shrubs trimmed down again.

This is my 5th GreenWorks 40V tool. Like the others I have, this hedge trimmer exceeds my performance expectation.Setup consisted of unboxing the trimmer and sliding in the 40v battery. There is a dead-man's switch to pull back with your thumb, then squeezing the trigger starts the blade moving. The product is supplied with a blade guard to provide protection while in storage.I then trimmed a yew hedge. It was so easy to do! The unit seemed to have sufficient power, was well balanced, and did a very nice job of producing clean cuts. I was able to flatten the top and sides quite quickly. Then I tried a burning bush with thicker stems to slice. No problems, the trimmer never slowed down.I took the trimmer to the edge of the woods where I have hundreds of baby buckthorn shoots (up to 3' high). I got close to the ground and move this trimmer over the buckthorn watching the shoots fall right over. I was very pleased. Reaching back further, I used the trimmer in one-handed mode. This was a little more awkward, but still very doable. I did about 300 sq ft of buckthorn removal quite quickly. Never once did the trimmer stall out. It produced sharp clean cuts every time. I then went to several other stumps where I had volunteer growth, the trimmer took those down very nicely too.I walked along our front sidewalk, holding the trimmer vertically as it sliced all the spireas that were leaning over the sidewalk. It was so easy to do. I went to the head of the driveway and trimmed 6 dogwoods - some with stems that were too thick for the trimmer. Still by working the trimmer over the thick branch, the wood was gnawed away and, in a few seconds, the thick stem fell too.In the past, I'd pull out my Craftsman Electric trimmer and a 200' extension cord to do sidewalk trimming. Once, I even cut the extension cord with the trimmer! But now, it is all different. I slide in the 40v battery and I'm ready to trim. Trimming also goes faster than before.Because of this simplicity and performance, trimming is so fast and easy I'm trimming after every other mowing rather than once or twice per year. Yard is looking great!

The Greenworks 40V 24" Cordless Hedge Trimmer works just as described and expected. Cut through hedges, lopped off small branches, cut weeds and brush, no problem. I found the 3/4" blade gap to be fully sufficient. Anything larger and I would probably want to use loppers or a saw anyway. Do note that this particular unit comes without a battery or charger, but that makes it a great value if you already have the 40V battery and charger setup. I actually have two already, one for my Greenworks mower and one for my leaf blower/vacuum, so I have no need to spend an extra $100-150 for more. I would say this trimmer is pretty easy to maneuver. Not super lightweight but very manageable.

It has a long enough set of blades to reach a good portion of any plant or bush being trimmed. It is quiet and so far has not needed another charge after cutting for over an hour plus. It is weighty, but not a distraction to its function. I am hopeful that it will continue to stay sharp for some time to come. It was easy to assemble and charge. Seems very versatile in its’ useage. So far, so good. Happy Camper here!

This is a great hedge trimmer worked flawlessly,battery lasted a long time

I love this tool. Smooth cutting, great ergonomics and safety. Lightweight and effective. I have several Greenworks 40V tools; I just interchange the batteries on the charger and keep working. Highly recommend!

Easy to use. I like its turning function. Not difficult to manage and it simply cuts. Ran it through a whole yard of fall cleanup and ran on one charge/battery no issues. If it gets caught, it self “resets.” Works well, great value.
