The media could not be loaded.  I have read thousands of American comics. I’ve been buying them for 40 years. I’ve tried manga. I’ve studied it. It just leaves me cold and I would never buy any.Except this. It’s the only manga I have in my library.HILARIOUS! Laugh out loud funny! I have the first three volumes and have preordered the next one. Words and art go together perfectly. It takes a little getting used to reading “backwards” but I’m coping. Perfect manga for the guy in your life who doesn’t understand your obsession with manga.It’s about an ex-gangster who has retired and taken up as a househusband. He still follows his code but applies it all to his new way of life with hilarious results. I can’t tell if he’s joking (I don’t think so), delusional (possibly), or just trying to cope the best way he can with his new life. The characters never “wink” at the audience to let them know it’s a joke. Everything is taken seriously, which makes it oh so much better!

Quirky, hilarious, and sometimes educational. Want to learn how not to kill a cockroach? What would a showdown between Yakuza enforcer and the family head of another group look like *in a grocery store?* What's the best way to relax after a hard day? My copy of Vol. 3 fell in the dog's water dish (don't ask). I'm replacing it even though I've read it already.

Not only is the art incredible, but the storyline is clever and hilarious! You never know what he's gonna pull next! Him as a Home Economics teacher was the piece de resistance! /Chef's kissI can not wait for the next volume!!!

I seriously love this manga. Have recommended it to my friends and got them hooked too! Even re-reading brings a smile.

This series brings me such pure joy. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and pick up this book. You'll enjoy the laugh.

I love the series... Def recommend if you're into yakuza stories and enjoy a good comedy. Netflix picked up rights to the ONA which I also enjoyed. Really wish NippoTV would license the live-action version for air in the US...

This has been my favorite so far. Everything is so serious and overblown. The first episode made me laugh so hard.

So many new characters I really hope they come back. It was an amazing mix of stories which really explain why he has become so good and useful in the area. I love how the women in the neighbourhood have rallied around him yet his attitude keeps him respected in the yakuza ranks. A great set of shorts and really looking forward to the next one!

You'll be sucked in immediately. I may have spent my week money just to read all of this in the same day. Worth it.

The series continues to be a charming and well-written slice of fun. Gorgeous art really adds to the experience.
