This booklet is published annually. It gives the page numbers for each day's offices in the four-volume Liturgy of the Hours. It is very helpful during times like the octaves of Christmas and Easter, when the exact day's office and page numbers can be difficult to determine. It is also helpful on other occasions like when a major feast day and a Sunday occur on the same day.

This guide is a good thing to have for anyone who is just beginning to pray the Liturgy of the Hours. I ordered it at the same time that I ordered the Liturgy of the Hours (set of 4) and did not realize that a copy of this guide book would be included with the set. Now I have two copies.

From the other reviews it looks like some folks received a large print version, but fortunately I got the regular size for the year 2017. This is a little booklet that simply tells you what page numbers to use each day to pray the Liturgy of the Hours from the four-volume set of breviaries (not the shorter Christian Prayer.) If you pray the full Hours, this is what you've got to have.

I bought this for my husband when I bought 4 volume set of the Liturgy of the Hours because I notice it listed as item often purchased together. This same booklet came with the 4 volume set so it was not necessary to purchase it.

I use this infrequently as I usually know where I am. But on those occasions when the season changes or a special feast day pops up I am happy to have the guide to refer to. It is used to find out what pages you should read out of the Divine Office each day. The abbreviations can be confusing if you don't know what they refer to.

The Catholic Liturgy of the hours is useless without this essential Guide. Once you get the hang of it your daily prayers will be much easier and faster if at work, it does open the mind just matching the dates. But, the CLH is useless without the Guide.

If you do not use an app on your phone, this guide is almost necessary to use Liturgy of the Hours 4 volume set. A great companion to the Liturgy of the Hours.

Necessary if you have the Liturgy of the Hours, unless you know which readings are scheduled by figuring it out.

I ordered 2017, not 2016 edition.
