There's a lot of infomation about this product (all of it glowing) - you have to read down a very long way before you reach this:'Using bone meal may be an issue for pet and child safety. While it is relatively safe for most use it can cause severe gastrointestinal illness if ingested in large amounts. This can be a particular issue with dogs who may be attracted to the smell of the bones. Dogs may try to dig up the garden to get at the bones they can scent. Eating too much bone meal is one of the most common causes of dog poisoning. Dogs can suffer with blockages in their stomach from eating too much bone meal.'I only spotted this info ('poisonous to dogs') in the much shorter leaflet that arrived with the product (which is very heavy) and then I had the problem of returning it.I can't comment on how useful it is for the plants
