Rasta Men's Imposta Lightweight Penguin Costume, Black

Oh and sorry its so long it was part of an english assignment so i needed to add a lot of fillerI bought this penguin costume for a costume/gaming event my friends and I had over winter break. The rules were simple pick a country, dress up like a citizen of that country, and get your country’s flag. I picked Antarctica as part of an inside joke amongst our group. I realize Antarctica is not a country it is its own continent but it was part of the joke. Unfortunately there are not any natural citizens of Antarctica so I had to dress up like a penguin for the night.This costume was perfect. It is lightweight so you do not over heat while playing whatever game you happened to be partaking in at a that time. Additionally there are handholes in the flaps so you can hold your beer or controller easily, as the night went on I found out you can also drink/play without the handholes it is just a lot harder. One problem I found with this costume was when the head was pulled up the beak tended to fall into my face blocking my view of the screen impairing my ability to counter or attack in Super Smashed Bros., race in Kario Mart, and land stunts in SSX whiskey. Luckily however it did not impede my fluid intake which was the main goal of the night.Another bonus of this costume is it looks good. I realize that penguins are classy looking animals what I failed to realize is that wearing a penguin costume is also classy because it doubles as a tuxedo complete with a big red bow-tie. I originally realized how good I looked in this penguin costume during the closing ceremonies. The closing ceremonies were not anything special and mainly consisted of all the participants that were still able to walk going down to the local 24 hour Mexican place, getting burritos, and reliving the best moments of the night. On the way to the Mexican place I received several compliments on my costume from different groups of ladies, including an invite to a party the next night, the guys we ran into were a little more negative but the costume was not to impress them anyway.One extremely nice feature of this costume is the bottoms kind of like a dress. Meaning its open so its easy to walk, and one size fits all. All the wearer has to do is have a pair of pants underneath. Reading about others adventures in this costume I realized theres two ways to go about it you can just go with jeans and look like a trashy penguin or be an adult and have a nice pair of black dress pants. Being the adult I am, and already having a pair of nice pants from my senior homecoming, I went with the classier look and wore black pants. The black pants were definitely the way to go they blended seamlessly with the rest of the costume if you were to purchase this costume definitely fork out a little extra cash and get black pants.Now you may be reading this wondering well this is all cool but I don’t know is it really worth it? Yes, yes it is. For the low price of $28.70 this costume is yours to keep forever. What that means for you the buyer is years of entertainment and as long as you hang out with different people on halloween each year you can just reuse it again and again. But wait this product may be sold on Amazon but Billy Mays ghost must have had a say because there is still more! I needed a costume for Halloween trick or treating with my toddler and to use for a tennis video for Halloween. This costume was perfect for both! For the price, it was great.The costume is well made, was easy to put on, and was comfortable to wear.As some people noted, it could be difficult to see with the beak bobbing up and down. But I managed to find an easy solution. If you wear a baseball-style cap and put the costume over it with the bill of the cap in the beak, this stabilizes the beak and makes it much easier to see. It also makes the beak look better!Before using the cap it was almost impossible to play tennis in it, because the beak kept bobbing down over my eyes and I couldn't see anything. With the cap, it was no problem, and easy to play.The one thing I would watch out for if you are running around in the costume is to be careful of the feet, because they are easy to trip over if you step on one of them. If you are moving around rapidly, the feet tend to flop around a bit. I stepped on it a few times and fell over once.Black sweat pants worked great, as other reviewers said, to cover the part of the legs that the costume doesn't cover. I didn't have any problem with the band that goes over your shoes for the feet. I was running around playing tennis for around an hour with no problem, the bands are still in place. The feet would flop over under my shoes some time, so they got a little torn up when playing tennis, but that's to be expected.

Worn this for 2 halloweens and it has worked great each time. Although, in 2011, there were a lot more penguins than there should've been. Either way, this costume still rocks. the beak is annoying ,you may have to pin it up so it doesnt hang in your face. The costume is not tight at all, so you have room to hold onto things like a bag or something, even in the arms. You could probably wear a backpack under this and carry a bunch of liquor in it. Maybe you are not in college and you are going trick-or-treating for real (candy is great, so I can totally vouch for this instead). So you got the backpack still, but instead of hard liquor to get you and your friends silly, you got a huge storage compartment for your candy earnings from all the houses you sack. Not only that, but it is concealed under the protective penguin costume, so people, namely bullies, will not see how much candy you have dangling from the bag in your hand. So you are less likely to be mugged for candy, wearing this costume. All in all, this is a great costume which can be used for many things. I plan on taking it with me for Spring Break.

This is a great Halloween costume, I got a ton of compliments.Pros: Looks Great, Easy to Wear, A Hit out at the BarsCons: Material isn't Breathable, Feet Get Dirty, Head Needs Stuffing, Doesn't Come With LegsI am 5'10" and 200lbs, the normal size fits great but would be huge on a smaller person. One thing to note, the costume does not come with legs, so I wore black sweatpants to my legs would be black. Some people reported problems with the feet, I had no issues other than they got super nasty after a night out at the bars. The head is a bit floppy, so you might need to stuff it with something. I just wore a black baseball hat underneath, which held it up.Overall, great costume for the price!

Got this costume for my husband for his Halloween costume this year. We are dressing up with our daughter as mary poppins, Bert and the penguin. Fits great got him the XL he could have maybe done the L. He is 5’9, 200. Great quality as well. As other reviews stated we will need to stuff the beak to make it pointy.
