J.M.W. Turner the 'Wilson' Sketchbook

Dark pages, can't see true sketches! It is not just a waste of money, but it is truely a waste. I am wondering how this book is published and distributed? Is there any QC?

I bought this because I absolutely love the images in this Turner sketchbook, which I'd seen in its entirety on the Tate website. I thought this would be cool because they printed it the exact size the sketchbook is, which is pretty small. But the image quality is only fair; the images on the Tate website are spectacular. So I was disappointed at this book reproduction. If the image quality had been better it would have been a 5-star review. Quite frankly I'm sorry I wasted my money on it. Now it sits as the lone curiosity in my rather large Turner library.

O livro é muito pequeno, mas além do tamanho ruim, a qualidade das imagens é péssima. Sem dúvidas o pior livro de arte que já comprei e não faz jus as belíssimas obras de Turner.

Excellent book very unique

Very pleasing

If you compare the TATE'S on line downloads of Turner''s ( Wilson) sketch books you will notice the difference between this very dull rendition with loss of so many highlights to that of the TATE. It is like viewing ALL the sketches through smoked glass, however a loverly pocket sized format, less than a fiver. Disappointed but not in tears. It still deserves some merit.
