I was so tired of waiting around for the other brush like this by Felicia Leatherwood to become available. I found this and its perfect. If you have super coily 4c african american hair, this is the detangle brush for you.

Initially I wanted to return the package because it arrived with dirty spots on it, but since it was from China I figured it would be too much of a hassle. I cleaned and sanitized it instead. It was a big help to detangle my hair, but it still took a lot of hair out. I was hoping it would help decrease shedding, but I am glad it helps detangle faster than my regular wide tooth comb.

I have very kinky type 4b/4c natural hair! This brush is very gentle and glides through my hair like a breeze! I recommend this brush to anyone who cannot find the Felicia leatherwood detangling brush!

I have very tight coils and it glides through my hair when wet (haven't used it on dry hair).

Today's winner. Nice improvement over the old flexible brushes from 20 years ago. I tested three new brands today. This one also worked well with or without the support bar (clip). The support bar has several point tabs to secure it to the brush (4). The other similar pink brush had two. This brush came in a nice plastic box with basic directions while the other was just in a plastic bag. ** I wish all these brushes had better directions for use with very curly coil hair. Here is what I found that workes best with THIS BRUSH and the other similar brush I got to test today. Works best with moist hair, not dripping wet. Start detangling at the tips of the hair (brushing downward) and work detangling moving towards the scalp. Hold hair slightly taut from the ends while working the brush into the hair. This makes the brush glide better and detangles faster. If the hair is matted, overly tangled, or you are growing out chemically relaxed hair, work in sections first, still starting at the ends of the hair. If you are finding that one side of your head is harder to detangle, it might be the angle of the brush. Sometimes just rotating the angle of the brush a little bit made a BIG difference. I am right-handed and it took me a while to figure out how to duplicate the correct angle on both sides (LOL). It normally takes me a long time to detangle my hear (entire movie :-), even with detangling solutions, but today went quickly once I figured out the ins and outs of the brush. It is nice to find something that works. I have tried so many brushes and combs and have a box full to prove it.

I bought this after watching a YouTube video. I was a little skeptical but curious enough to buy it anyway. This sounded like nothing short of a miracle product. Wash day is not an event that I usually look forward to. Denman brushes, wide-tooth combs, you name it, I've been tortured by it.OH MY GOD!! IT REALLY WORKS!!The instructions are really simple. Brush your hair while holding the brush in a vertical position. After you've finished bushing all of your hair, brush again while holding the brush in a horizontal position.The knots came out with EASE. Strands of hair that were THINKING about forming knots decided to straighten up and fly right. I kept brushing parts that I had already done because I was in disbelief. Detangling took less than ten minutes. Quite a bit of hair came out, but I've been wearing braids for the last four weeks so that's expected. It was less painful than other brushes too.Mine came with a little attachment, but I don't know what it's for.If you have natural hair and have dreaded wash day for too long, get this brush. You will love it.

This product is amazing! I learned about it after extensively scouring the web for the best detangling comb. After one use, I’m convinced it may be the most transformational element in the detangling process for my and my daughters’ hair. After adding a conditioner and gently finger detangling, I used this product on my two-year old who had fallen asleep during the washing process— she didn’t even budge, this comb literally slid through her hair with minimal breakage ( very scant); she slept unbothered. My 11-year old didn’t even realize I was comb detangling her hair when it was her turn until she heard me singing the product’ praise. It is so important to have a product like this on the market for those with 4c hair looking to maximize the length and strength of our hair; the detangling process often feels like a hindrance to this goal. Recommending this product to everyone!

I think the brush is a bit expensive but I'm so happy with my purchase I'm not sure it matters. I've been trying to find something to help detangle my 4c hair since birth. Now I've finally found it, this brush is amazing and easy to use. Can't wait to see how my wash and go turns out.

My daughter and I use it to detangle our hair in the shower we also use it in the mornings after putting hair products in our hair my hair is afro hair and it is very curley and coily my daughter is mixed race and has wavy curley hair down to her waist it doesn't rip the hair out while detangling it glides through with with or without any product in the hair you get minimal shedding if any the brush moves over and the Bristles separates the nots with ease doesn't rip out the hair whist doing so

I have 4D HAIR LOL AND THIS TOOL IS AMAZING FOR DETANGLING after a protective style or a wash.

I had really high hopes for this brush but it was not meant to be.My son has very tight curls (4C I think, pictured) plus A LOT of hair, and it takes a lot of time to get it all washed and brushed properly.I read the reviews and thought I'd give it a go. It's a little strange to begin with but I think with time you would get used to that aspect of the brush. I noticed that people had also mentioned in other reviews that the clip on bit that holds the combs together doesn't stay on, I don't think they realised maybe that there are tiny holes that it clips into and it stayed on for me.I tried the brush both ways, flexible and rigid with the clip in place but it just doesn't run through the hair. I did smaller sections too but if you want a really thorough brush that smooths out and gets all the knots, I don't think this is the one. My son actually asked me to stop as it was too painful and wanted me to go back to our usual system which is two brushes, first a tangle teaser detangler brush then a regular flat brush. The tangle teaser detangler really makes it pretty painfree and stops the tugging.I'm glad I tried this brush and it seems to definitely work for some people but if you have hair like my son, probably best avoided although not very expensive if you wanted to give it a go.

I have 4c hair and this detangling brush was very difficult to brush through my hair. I had to use my afro comb on top of this one to be able to comb through my hair. This detangling brush was not going through one bit, the brush just kept on expanding as I was trying to comb my hair, it was a struggle and very difficult. I felt like it was ripping my hair out more than it was actually combing it. The only time the detangling brush was working was after I combed through my hair with my other afro comb and already entangled my hair.

This brush is really bad, the teeth are not attached to each other, so its impossible to brush anything with it, it has a detached piece to make them stick together, but the piece does not fit and does not stay in place. I had to glue it, but the brush is still completely worthless, do not waste ur money on this.

Amazing for type 4 curls! I love this brush it's so easy to use on wet conditioned hair. It's a little odd to use at first as the bristles aren't attached but once you get used to it it's so easy and very effective as it doesn't snag your hair. It's super gentle and the design makes it really easy to clean. Highly recommend for Afro hair :). Note the shape of the brush may make it a better unsuitable for super short hair.

This is certainly the best brush I have tried with my mixed race childrens’ hair albeit a bit odd with the separate arms and I’m not sure about the attachment you can use to select the width as it falls off, maybe I will glue it on. My one child has a thick afro and the other thiner very tight curls and it works well on both. It detangles without damaging their hair and has avoided a lot of tears! I’d recommend.

This brush is simply brilliant! Good price and well made!I don't have afro hair but I do have very curly, thick hair and this brush is great, especially when I'm brushing it back in to a ponytail! I honestly think this brush could be used for any hair type though as I also bought one for my friend and she had super straight, fine hair and she loves hers just as much as I love mine!I've not had the same problem with the attachment that others have... the attachment itself has pins on it and the back of the brush has small holes in it, place the pins in to the holes and hay presto, the attachment is fitted! Maybe I've just been lucky but if anything, I found it harder to remove the attachment than I did to attach it! To be honest though, you don't really need it as the brush works perfectly fine without it.The other brilliant thing about this brush is how easy it is to remove hairs from it! One of my pet hates about standard brushes is removing tangled hairs from them! With this brush, hair removal is easy peasy!100% recommend!

Love this ! Works brilliantly on my 4c coils ! I use it on wet or damp hair mainly, with a little product in there too but it works equally as well when my hair is dry.I had to use it a couple of times for it to feel comfortable in my hand and I removed the clip from the back as i couldn’t work out its benefit 🤷🏾‍♀️I comb the ends of my hair out first and work my way to the roots. I’ve noticed Very little hair loss, about the same as finger combing.My hair love this brush/comb, In fact, i’ve Just ordered one for my Mum, she loves it too.

I am so in love with this brush it is unreal!My hair has become significantly damaged over the years due to constantly scraping it back into a bun and stressing the roots. As a result I have hair loss at my temple that I am desperately to resolve with the right hair care and attention.One of the contributing factors to the damage was bad hair brush etiquette and not using the correct type of brush in the first place. I am mixed race and have frizzy, dry hair (think Diana Ross in the 80's) and have a lot of breakages when I brush my hair.I used this new brush for the first time and was so impressed with how easily it went through my hair. It brushed through the ends without any real issue whereas in the past I had been known to give up and let it develop into a form of dread lock before I washed my hair again as it was difficult to brush out.Because of I guess the design and material it does not tug or stress my roots which is massively important. I can brush my hair any which way and it does not force any part of my hair meaning less breakages.I spent the whole time brushing wondering how in the world it has taken so long for something like this to be produced. Where has it been all my life!Honestly, if you need a decent brush get this!My sister has afro hair and also has this brush for her and her daughters and they also rave about it.

Works exceptionally well perfect for my hair, a very good detangle the hair without pulling off the hair.

I have 4c Afro hair and every comb I would use caused pain to my scalp, but since I have found this comb it is the best thing ever. Works wonders through my hair and my hair is no longer tangled!!,I really recommend this comb it is Literally the best thing ever

The product box was damaged when it arrived, the brush itself was dirty like it had been used and put back into the box, and the bar that’s meant to adjust it was missing. The fact that the bar is missing isn’t even what upsets me so much.It’s absolutely ridiculous and careless to ship a previously used product to a customer during a pandemic. Especially one that is dirty!!On the product itself, the tips of the end look like they would snag on your hair so would not recommend at all.

I have 4b/4c hair and I finger detangle my hair most time’s. Every now and then I run a brush through it to remove all the shredded hairs. This brush is better than the denman for me. It’s flexible in the sense that it moves with the hair. You may have to do through it a few more times, but it won’t tear knots out of your hair.

My 12 year old is mixed race and we have an ongoing struggle with doing her hair every day. She was just putting her hair up in a knotty bun, as dreaded detangling it.Well...that was then!! This brush has literally changed her life and she is now able to detangle her hair easily, quickly and pain-free every morning before school. Best buy for haircare ever.
