Releasing yourself is cathartic
I purchased this book because my life as a women changed when I had my two children. They literally made me realize that I had purpose and had a legacy to leave behind. I changed my entire life from walking away from being a CEO of my business to pursuing my dream as a writer. This book is unbelievable and it is my parenting philosophy. It has made me so self aware around my children and the truth is the change in me has absolutely created a life that they are meant to have - that is having FUN. Thank you for this adorable book and the insights. I cant argue with Authors who devote their lives to science and then give us information at our instant access. I am so inspired by this book and the teachings of The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, & Miracles Dr Bruce Lipton and Molecules Of Emotion: The Science Behind Mind-Body Medicine by Dr Candice Pert, it has inspired me in my writing in particular in The Poison of SelfA Story of Love - The Power of Stepping Into Your Vulnerability - which are both based on looking into yourself first, taking responsibility, challenging your paradigm and being inspired. That's what life is about and there are brilliant scientist and academics who can provide us with factual information we just cant argue with.

This book is garbage
Do you want to be disturbed, discouraged and hear about violence done to and by children? Do you feel like I would love some heaps of shame and guilt with no ideas on what to do? Then this book is for you! This book does have some insight but the preachy tone-deaf tone will having you asking why am I subjecting myself to this existential garbage? You can get the same ideas elsewhere presented with less dogma. Is the author even a father? Based on what he writes, I bet his wife/servant does all the work of childcare. He spends the first 100 pages telling you that you cannot tell a child no, you also cannot gently redirect them with an activity that is safe and does not cause messes, you can never meet your own needs as an adult human because the childs wants and needs for play are always priority. He throws in lots of examples of school shootings and severe child abuse to emotionally pursaude you why his opinions are correct.

A magical book
Full of good informationI read it after reading Magical child. Sometimes the infornation in repeated over and over , as in to clearly state what is meant . I found that redundant, especially since it is tightly linked to Magical child. A good read all in all.

Brilliant writer, unorthodox and insightful.
I'm a big fan of Joseph Chilton Pearce. I've given this book as a gift to new parents, most of whom were inspired and blown away by his ideas. Even embracing just a few of his recommendations helped me IMMENSELY with parenting my daughter, now almost 18.He's definitely a scientist of the mystical variety, and his insights require a "leap of faith" that there is much more to reality - and child-rearing - that what our often toxic culture usually suggests.

Insightful
This was chosen for a parenting book club read. I'm only 30 pages into it, but it's 30 are like another book's 100. Every paragraph has something insightful worth stopping to reflect on. Within the first 30 pages it's not at all a How-To guide to parenting but rather discussion on psychological topics that effect who we as adults are, and how our personality connects with the child (or can disconnect). Wonderful wonderful!

truly magical
My wife loves this book. I think there's highlighter on every page. She loves anything by Pearce and if you love your child than you pick one of these up. Lost knowledge inside it and you aren't coming across this by accident, you've already made your decision so buy it today.

Fantastic Book
Great book. Maybe the best and most insightful look at the influence of the relationship between parent and children I have ever experienced. I taught and coached and parented and am now a grandparent. This book should be mandated reading for all education majors.
