Hi!: A Rhyming Animal Sounds Book

I had to buy our own copy of this after our 16 month old became obsessed with it as a library book. She just loves the animal sounds! Now at 22 months, she can make all the sounds herself. Simple and lots of fun.

Very simple, one-word-per-page book...my toddler LOVES it. At 1 years, he doesn't have the attention span for me to read lots of words on each page, but he does love our reading time together. This is fun for him as we turn the pages quickly. When he wants to spend a little more time, we talk about the animals, the colors, the sounds, and make up stories at the end about the little boy and his mom (my little guy and me). Fun book for very small kids even though, as an adult, it makes you feel like you should be able to come up with your own kids' book if they're this easily written and enjoyed.

Cute and rhyming. Good sized board book with large, clear pictures that don't have a lot of distractions in the background. Since it rhymes, the author had to use some animals that you might not normally see in a typical "animal book" which is nice. The pictures read "Hoo" (owl), "Moo" (cow), "Growl" (polar bear), "Howl" (wolf), "Chirp" (bird), "Slurp" (anteater), "Meow" (cat), "Bowwow" (dog), "Quack" (duck), "Yak" (yak), "Caw" (crow), "Hee-haw" (donkey), "Coo" (pigeon), "Hoo" (owl), then Hi and Good-bye.The animals each have a bit of their environment with their scenes, so you can talk about where they live or in the anteater's case, what he's doing :)

Adorable board book for younger kids.

Ordered this and the other Ethan Long books (Thank You and Goodnight) for my 18 month old son, and they quickly became his favorites. We like that they don't have a story line, so we pick out different things each time we read- from shapes, colors, animals, and the sounds they make. Super cute book for toddlers!

This is one of my daughters favorite books. She loves animals and animal sounds, so we must have read this to her a thousand times. All it is is pictures of animals with the sounds they make, so we also tell her what animal it is.

Great book for a 2 year old boy! Both my son and I love the rhyming sounds and the simplicity of the book!

I think I like this book more than my 8 month old. I like the 1-word text and the cute pics. Even though I make the animal sounds, she seems only half way interested. I will keep trying.

Super book would recommend.
