Great hat and good quality
Let me put the Kudos out there first. This is probably the only company I know that you can measure your head, ask for a specific size, and get a hat that fits. I have a small head, most hats fall on top of my ears, or they are child small and sit on top of my head instead of resting just over the ears. I do not have to stretch this hat to fit on my head nor do I need to pad it to keep it from falling on top of my ears. I highly recommed this hat if you are shoping for a quality leather hat that looks good.Would I recommend this company? Absolutely!Would I buy another hat from this company? Probably, especially now that I know what I am getting. Why the 4 start rating instead of 5 then? I am picky about my hats. That said, the images show a hat that rolls smoothly from the down turned front along the sides, with no "cowboy" side flair pointing to the sky and rolling smoothly to the down turned back. My hat has very obvious side flairs that make it look like a United States cowboy hat, not the Austrailia low brimmed hat I wanted. This bothers me greatly, so much that I almost gave it 3 stars and went back to my cloth hat. I saw the pictures from other hat owners and they do not have the rise I am talking about. If I get a chance I will take a picture of mine and post it.This next part is actually why I gave it the 4 star rating instead of 3, even though I am not happy with this part it is exactly as per the discription.I should have read the discription a little more. I thought that I read this hat has a "low" crown. 4" in the front of the hat stands off my head like an old style top hat. That is not the fault of this company though, that is my fault for mixing up the discription of this hat with another. I consider this a very high crown and I like a lower one. I also do not understand why the front is 4" high and the sides and back are 3 1/2" high. I pulled down the inside front of the hat a 1/2" and it looks a lot better, in my opinion at least. I know someone who has a sewing machine that can stitch through thicker leather than this hat, and the talent to sew as well. I will have them drop the front of the crown to between 3" - 3 1/2".Now if I can only figure out how to get rid of the "cowboy" sides, I would love this hat enough for a 6 star rating.Okay, I’m back to add more to the review. I have had the hat for 6 months now and I wear it everyday. Record breaking heat across the U.S.! This hat does get hot, outside temperature of the hat was 139 degrees Fahrenheit (59.4 Celsius) that was from a walk from the car with AC on and hat off to the temperature scanner inside the front door where I work. Glad I was able to take the hat off and rescan my 98 degree (36.6) head. The 3 holes on each side help a lot, my head does not feel like it is on fire like one would imagine. So my brain is not cooking. That said it does not keep me from sweating under it, especially if there is no breeze. The sweat band works great for catching the sweat and keeping it out of my face and eyes. The brim keeps me from getting burned. Imagine Hollywood vampire pale skin that burns in 15 minutes of sunlight. (Not kidding about that I burn in 15 minutes and blister in less than an hour.) the hat does stretch in the heat a little and with the sweat it will slide down my head and touch my ears, not rest on them, just touch them. I have worn this hat through all weather and still love it. I gave it another coat of mink oil to keep the leather healthy and waterproof. It has lost the U.S. cowboy turn on the tips I talked about earlier. I still might lower the front to give it a lower appearance. I talked to my friends and none of them seem to notice a difference.I upped it to 5 stars, it has flaws but the hat doesn’t cook me in the summer, I would definitely rather wear it than burn without it. I still have my cloth hat if I wanted a cooler one but I haven’t really felt the need to switch back. (Maybe if I ever mow my lawn that looks like a jungle right now.) The hat does keep its shape even when smashed or rolled. The only way I could be happier with this hat would be if it came in a round brimmed fedora style. (And a lower crown) Still highly recommend it, my dad is getting one for his birthday.

Good comfort & quality materials, but...! I expected better craftsmanship for a $100 hat!!
Everybody has their preferences, but in my opinion... **UPDATED AT BOTTOM** 3/8/23 A proper fitting hat should be tight enough to stay on your head in strong winds. But still loose enough to come off if you bend over and shake your head. And can be worn for long durations without leaving a crease in your forehead. If you choose your hat size using Oztrala's sizing chart and Oztrala's measuring instructions, (3rd or 4th picture in the ad i think) that's how your hat will fit. Mine was spot-on perfect fit right out of the box. If you are in between sizes, order the bigger size and get the hat size-reducing foam tape. The logic being that you can reduce the hat size instantly for a perfect fit, but it takes a while to stretch the hat to a bigger size. And it may still end up uncomfortable if it's too tight. The leather is soft and supple right out of the box, and conforms instantly to the natural contours of your head. I've been wearing this type of hat since the 1980's... I only wish they had all been Oztrala's Jacaru from Australia. Best thing I ever put on my head.... bar none!** UPDATE 3/8/23 ** While I meant everything I wrote, upon closer examination, the hat does have a couple wrinkles. The seam of the crown is not centered in the back. Nor are the breather holes centered in the side of the crown. Those two I could deal with... But the one that makes the hat unwearable is that the crown itself is lopsided. By that I mean that the left side of the crown is at least a half inch taller then the right side. As if they rolled down the right side crown edge further to sew the lid, then they did the left side crown edge. To elaborate: If you put the hat on a table, then put a six foot long broomstick on the top of the hat, side to side, the right side would hit the table. On a properly made hat, the broomstick would be parallel with the table. Sorry guys...swing and a miss. Epic Failure.... returning.Doug in USA

Hat
So far this is a good hat a little bit tight, but I was able to stretch it enough to feel good on my head, looks good on. If it were to start to dry out what kind of oil would you use

Great product.
Love the hat. Though it's leather, it is very light. I hope it last a long time. The biggest factor is knowing your hat size.
