The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment Unknown Binding – January 1, 2010

I was so glad someone suggested this book to me. A well thought out guide to clearing your mind of negativity. I would suggest this book to anyone struggling with depression or trying to advance to a higher spiritual level. Reading this may be just what you need to free your mind of worry and regret.

After reading someone's negative feedback about this audio tape set, I almost didn't purchase it. On second thought, I realized that my desire to connect with more of Eckhart's energy was strong enough to purchase the tapes anyway. I had already read Eckhart's book several times and was very impressed by his clarity and obvious sense of presence. He wasn't just talking about it, he expressed it without effort. After listening to the tapes myself, I felt inclined to voice my own opinion about them. There is a depth to these tapes which reaches beyond intellectual understanding. The tapes open the receptive listener to other dimensions of awareness. I recommend these tapes to anyone who has the ears to hear not only Eckhart's words, but that which resides between the words.

Of course, different spiritual books speak to different people. This is a book to read slowly and take in.It is profound.

I only listened to 15 minutes of this set of tapes, but am so happy that I got the unabridged tapes of the author reading "The Power of Now" instead. This seemed to have little specific to add to the stunning material of "The Power of Now." It seems to be a mudily recorded lecture tape. "The Power of Now" is the single most helpful book on/of spiritual material that I have ever read. It is clear, pragmatic, concise and fills in gaps between other spiritual materials/traditions. It tops "A Course in Miracles". I eagerly await the companion workbook due out Oct 2001.

+AH4-Having this set of tapes is perhaps all you need. I am amazed at how smoothly and seamlessly pieces of Eckhart+IBk-s talks were chosen and combined, and how incredibly broad their scope is. From the very first word, Eckhart+IBk-s voice kindles a deeper sensation in the listener. You will listen to the words, yes, and hear what you are ready to hear; at the same time you will feel something between and beyond the words that will mingle its way right through your mental noise and take up residence+AH4-+AH4- in that part of you which would purr if it were a cat. Simple, like purring - thoughtless, like purring, and utterly complete in itself, like purring. Eckhart speaks in a language and context that are alive and familiar to the Western listener. He is a master storyteller (the man feeding the ducks), a comedian ( the Platinum Card saga), a profoundly compassionate listener (in response to audience questions), a brilliant mapper of the human mind (waiting for a better +IBw-now moment+IB0- to+AH4-+AH4- enter - in the future!), and utterly present. If you put a paper towel next to a damp sponge, the paper towel will slowly grow damp. Put yourself next to Eckhart, and absorb that which he offers - this tape is such a tool. One of my favorite lines from the tapes: +IBw-The now never gets any better than this.+IB0Afg-

I've tried listening to The Power of Now multiple times and I always fall asleep. Apparently you need an IQ of about 160 to really get this.
