Basher History: States and Capitals: United We Stand

The book is 7 inches by 7 inches, a little smaller than I thought but I never looked at the size either. It's a great book, and I love how it shows where each state is on the map in the right hand corner of every state. It also has a lot of facts about each state as well. Each State is a two page spread and on the left side it shows the Capital, some facts about the state, a few paragraph's also about the state, and at the bottom it shows the population, when the state joined and what number state it was, the abbreviation, state flower, state bird, and it's nickname. On the right hand side is just a full picture of the state's shape and like I said, there is a pic of where in the USA the state belongs in the top right hand corner. Great fun facts to learn about each state! My 10 yr old son and I really enjoy learning the fun facts each state. I would recommend this book to people of all ages but especially elementary aged children. SUPER fast deliver too! Very pleased!

My goal was for my kid to learn the states and capitals, since his school did not cover that in the 5th grade. (that was the grade I had to memorize them ) My 11 y/o used the source material in this book to create flash cards for learning the states and capitals. He's been able to learn most of them. After a few more sessions, he should have it down. In that regard, this book accomplished what I was trying to achieve. So for that reason, i can recommend it.

My 8-year-old loves these Basher books and we ordered this because he didn’t have it. He was disappointed that this one didn’t come with a poster even though the one shown on the page shows a ‘With Poster’ stripe on the bottom right corner of the front. Ours didn’t have one, unfortunately, and he was a little bummed about that. Wish there was a way to know for sure we could get one if we reordered it. Otherwise, a fantastic series of books. We’ve got about 20 of this series.

This book is a great introduction to the U.S. states. Each page shows a cartoon picture of a state and lists various information about it. The information provided includes the capital, the year it became a state, the state flower and bird and anything that makes the state unique. My 7 year old son loves reading about the states and then telling everyone he meets about them. This has certainly sparked his interest in geography and U.S. history.This is one of many Basher Books that we've purchased and I've never been disappointed by them! Every one is a great addition to our homeschool library!

Wonderful book for my 6 year old. Perfectly written, illustrated and informative without being too overwhelming for a child. I would say this book would be one that would take my 6 year old into middle school, as the information will grow with him as he grows. He can take the more simple information for what he needs, and then comprehend the entirety of the book as he gets older. I recommend these for all children!

We use this in our homeschool classroom. I like the short overview of each state and the illustrations. Highly recommended

We love Basher Books, and I'm sure this one is just as good as our many others, but I have ordered it twice already and each time I have not received the poster that the picture clearly indicates should be included (see bottom right corner of cover in the picture). My little guy collects the posters and puts them up on his wall. I'm not going to bother ordering a third time because I doubt it will include a poster. I used to buy these at Barnes and Nobel but they do not seem to carry them anymore so just beware, you will probably not get the poster.

This is a good book for kids. My children live it!

Just the right amount of information for a youngster to have a little knowledge of the geography of the States.

Each state is presenting itself in a self-congratulatory manner (funny!) and it makes the book easy to read.The cartoon illustrations are of superior quality.
