Full Throttle Child Water Buddies Life Vest

This review is intended to help potential buyers of this life vest. This is a Type 3 life vest, which is designed only to FLOAT the child, NOT to hold him/her on their back and face up!! All the critical reviews I read before ordering this life vest were concerned that it did not hold their child face up. BUT it is NOT designed to do that. For that purpose, one needs a Type 1 or Type 2 life vest, which this manufacturer also sells. This was clearly explained in the literature that came with the vest, but may not be obvious to those who are not used to the different classes of vests. As a Type 3 vest, this item is well constructed and it provides very adequate flotation for my grandchild, but it should not be used without an adult nearby in case the child needs assistance. please do NOT purchase this life jacket!!! I bought it for my son who weighs 31.5lb and this life jacket cause toddlers to drown!!!! I bought the one with the dinosaur design and the back shield is designed in a way that will tip your child forward and with the face under water. If you do buy thia please don’t leave your child unattended, this life jacket is DANGEROUS!!!

My son is 2 years old and weighs 30lbs. This life jacket forces his face down into the water to where he wasn't able to lift his head out. We tried holding just the loop on the back but it continued to do the same thing. We had to keep him sitting on our laps or on one of our legs. The jacket also kept sliding up around his neck and would scrunch around his face, it didn't matter how tight we made the straps it would slip. It made it almost impossible for him to stay up on his own and just repeatedly forced him face down. We ended up buying a completely different style (floats on the arms) which worked 100% better. I would not recommend this to anyone with smaller children.

Ordered an assortment of life vests to donate to our local YMCA for their preschool swimming lessons. The instructors love the ease of putting on the child, the added safety features of the adjustable crotch strap (which keeps the vest from riding up), zippered vest with the adjustable waist straps, and top handle which the instructor holds onto when the child is practicing floating on their back. Purchased both the dinosaur and turtle and the children love the design; they can't wait to put them on which has encouraged more of the reluctant children to get their feet wet. Please note that this does not turn the child over onto their back if they fall face forward AND NEVER LEAVE A CHILD UNATTENDED IN THE WATER -- ADULT SUPERVISION IS A MUST AT ALL TIMES.

Although this life vest is very cute I would not recommend it to anyone! While we were in the pool, this vest kept turning my son over face first in the water! Luckily he was never alone and I never left his side. Be very careful when choosing a life vest for your children! This is not a safe vest!

Adorable And functional. My daughter loves wearing her swim vest! She is 3 and weighs about 36 lbs fits perfect.

Everyone admires this life vest for our smallest family member. However be aware toddlers need supervision at all times as the life vest does not hold their faces out of the water, it keeps their body afloat. Never leave your child unattended.

Grandson loved it! It wasn't as irritating and restrictive as the others he wore. He had more freedom to play. Its adorable to watch as he plays. He looks like a turtle from behind.I would reccomend .... study the safety of all "swim vest" products before purchase. This product may not fit your need. It will not turn your child face up if they fall forward. Parental supervision always strongly advised.

Le quedó a la perfección a mi niño de 5 años. No es muy bromoso y le permite moverse en el agua sin problemas. Materiales bastante buenos pues lo ha usado en el mar y en la alberca y sigue en muy buenas condiciones

Excelente artículo, a mi niño de 4 años le quedó perfecto y además estaba feliz con el diseño jurásico. De buena calidad, llegó en tiempo, cumple con su función. Me gustó mucho que trae una cinta en la parte superior como para jalarlo o colgarlo.

Very cute; however, as other reviewers have noted, it fits quite small. My average-sized 30 pound 3-year-old can fit it now, but I don't think it would fit him next year.

What a cute little unit. The grab loop is a must on all child's vests - good detailing. The crotch strap feature is also important and nicely implemented. Top choice.

Love this life jacket. It fits my 2 and a half year old granddaughter perfectly, easy to do up and the neck area is spacious, does not choke or ride up. Plus very stylush!
