BRNO baLens 62mm White Balance Lens Cap with Neutral and Warm Filters

This product will not work well in dim lighting, due to a small amount of light making it through the white hemisphere. But in moderate light this product works surprisingly well, and the construction is very good (not a cheap lens cap). Overall this will add about 3/4 of an inch to the end of your lens, so if your tight on space it may not be a good choice.

I'll make this short. ( I hope ) 😎 As a Professional Shooter of many many years I am constantly tweaking my equipment or just looking for something to test out. Recently I purchased this product as well as the WD-F1 JJC White Balance tools. I have a friend who is addicted to the much more expensive "EXPO DISC" and is constantly telling me to get one. ( I have used his EXPO DISC MANY TIMES) Being from the old school, I use a GRAY CARD and I have to admit that I am getting a little lazy in my old age, so to just be somewhat contraversional with my friend, I purched the two tools I mentioned earlier. The WB-F1 JJC will fit all my lenses, and the baLans BRNO is the same idea as the EXPO DISC BUT LESS EXPENSIVE! After many hours of testing each of the 3 in several lighting conditions, and comparing my notes, I really liked the results of all 3 !!! I mostly shoot in Kelvin but that's a different topic for here. All 3 tools worked great in all lighting scenes. I really didn't see enough difference in them to speak of. ( Cameras used: NIKON D750, FUJI XS-1 )The WB-F1 was convienent to use in the testing due to it's "ONE SIZE FITS ALL". However I liked the BRNO the most for a couple of reasons.1st) It comes with two (2) domes. ONE for standard WB, and one for warmer skin tones.2nd) It fits in my pocket easily, and I don't need to mess with the GRAY CARDS (holding in front of clients face etc. etc.)3rd) It will double as a lens cap, if you use one.The only draw back (small one) is that this tool is for one lens size only.I do mostly Portraits and Studio work so this is of no concern to me.Just follow the directions, and you'll be OK.MY CONCLUSION: ALL THREE (3) are good products. It all depends on how much you want to spend! FOR ME, and what I do as an Artist, WHITE BALANCE IS SUBJECTIVE TO THE SUBJECT YOU ARE PHOTOGRAPHING !Did I say this would be a short story??? I found this to work pretty good. However I have a filter on my lens and you have to be careful when putting this on to make sure that it is actually on securely or it will fall off. It seems to be a little harder to put on than the original filter. I like the fact that it comes with 2 domes. The neutral seem to work the best under incandescent light and the warm seems to better for me in other lighting situations. The dome fits in really tight and I have to use a coin or something strong to change the dome. (I have another one of these and the dome is easy to change with your fingers) It has worked as promised and I like the fact that I can just leave it on the lens and not have to dig it out of a pocket every time I need it.

I now have 72 mm and 62 mm versions of the baLens which I am using with my Sony H-9 Super Zoom and Nikon D7000 DSLR cameras and this amazing white balance lens cap has consistently been able to provide much more accurate and higher density colors for each of the cameras than when using either of their automatic or built in manual white balance modes.The most notable area of improvement was that many times my cameras would record a shade of blue while taking pictures of purple subjects and the only way I found to accurately correct this problem and get the cameras to render true purple was by using the baLens for manual white balance.

I now have a number of these in different sizes. The item does a very good job at setting a custom white balance. I find it particularly useful indoors. Dead simple to use since it is always attached to your camera.Materials and workmanship are quite good.

マニュアルWBしか信用できない人だったので、有効に使わせていただいています。最近はデフォルトでWBが性格になってきたのであまりつかわなくなりました。

簡単に出来て持ち運べるのがいいです。毎回、撮影毎に調整してカラーマネージメントがしやすくなりました。
