Good for Wrestling fans. Poor understanding of Catholicism.
Shawn's story is a testimony of the healing power of the good news of Christ Jesus for all Christians; and that includes Catholics. The unfortunate part of Shawn 's witness is that he has fallen for the ole evangelical false dichotomy that Catholics are not Christians even though he was raised Catholic. It reminds of the typical person who says, "I went to Catholic school for blank amount of years..." and then says something completely contrary to Catholic doctrine. Catholics are Christians, Shawn.

Shawn Michaels has been my favorite wrestler. I found this book to provide good ...
When I was 9 years old, my first exposure to wrestling was watching the 1995 Royal Rumble where Shawn Michaels won the Rumble match even though he was the Number 1 entrant. Ever since, Shawn Michaels has been my favorite wrestler.I found this book to provide good insight into a man who hit a low-point in his life, and the ways he came around to overcoming the obstacles to his happiness. The only complaint I would have about the book was that it was quite short, and there were many parts where he just glossed over some topics without going into more detail about them.Regardless, this book isn't primarily one about wrestling. It's more about a story of how one's priorities in life change, and just one example of how one comes to their own happiness.I would like to comment on an earlier review where a person said that liberal Non-Believers should not read this book. I am an agnostic who leans heavily towards atheism, and yet, I still found great value in reading this book. Just because I don't share the Christian faith, that does not mean I cannot appreciate a story of the journey a man went through to go from being a drug-addicted, deeply unhappy person who just lived for themselves to a sober, happy man who lives primarily for his family and faith. Everyone has their own journey to happiness, and we as humans should celebrate our diversity. Even if you are not Christian, one can appreciate and value the ideas expressed by Shawn Michaels: the importance of family, the importance of not having one's happiness be exclusively determined by what one does for a living and the ability for people to dramatically change their lives around. These are not ideas exclusive to Christianity, but are shared by people of all beliefs. And although Shawn Michaels talks about these things through the lens of Christianity, that does not make them irrelevant to non-Christians.

Real and Relatable.
Thank you Shawn. I appreciate your humility and your testimony. This book is just what I needed in this season of life.

A book that I'll keep coming back to read again and again.
If you're looking for a book about Shawn's wrestling career, this isn't the book for you. He talks about wrestling sparingly, with his match against Ric Flair at WrestleMania 24 and his matches against The Undertaker from WrestleMania 25 and 26 respectively as the focal points. I'd also like to note that when he does talk about it, he talks about it in the context of the reader being a non-wrestling fan.I remember back when Shawn became a Christian back in 2002, This book is his testimony of his walk with Christ since then. You could really file this book under the Christian Living category. This is a summary of all the things that God has taught him over the years. He talks about how he was before he came to Christ and his life since then. He goes into detail about his marriage and family as well as all the struggles he's been through. He talks about his outdoors show too.Needless to say, I used the highlighter on my Kindle quite a bit. If you're a Christian and are familiar with HBK or pro wrestling, I'd recommend picking this up. I was really blessed by reading it.

Lots to like here, without being preachy. Shawn comes off like a very thoughtful and sincere everyman, which is a great thing.
There is some familiar ground covered here, but not so much that it felt like a retread, only enough for people who are unfamiliar with who he is to be brought up to speed. It was pretty much exactly what I had hoped for and expected. The only downside, as it is with most audio books, is it's not read by the author. Other than that, I thought Shawn gave a very honest, often very specific and introspective account of how he went from growing up in a nominal Catholic family, to for all intents and purposes, Catholic in name only, to both his and he's wife's conversions to Christianity. I've watched all the WWE produced stuff on Shawn, as well as read his other book, and even seen a RF video shoot interview with Shawn, and this is a fabulous addition if you share Shawn's world view, which I do. He addresses a lot of specifics troubles he had trying to navigate through the landmines of life as a celebrity in a business that is often viewed as low brow entertainment. I was very happy to hear how well thought out his decisions were and that he was sincere with God as his primary focus in his decision making.

Not just a book about wrestling...
In Shawn Michaels' book ' Wrestling For My Life ', Shawn gives us not a memoir of his career as " The Heartbreak Kid " Shawn Michaels, but rather an intimate look at the spiritual journey of Shawn Hickenbottom - the man.Chronicling his life from his return from his first retirement to his second retirement up until now, Shawn incorporates faith lessons into his everyday life and talks about the joys and struggles of his daily Christian walk. You hear of many celebrities that have found God or had a religious experience and then fell from grace and gone back into worldliness. This does not appear to be the case with Shawn. He writes with such genuineness about his love for and faith in Jesus Christ, and stresses the importance of Christ and his family in his life.I highly recommend this not only to those who are fans of Shawn Michaels in WWE, but also those who want to read a book about a man whose life was transformed and forever changed by the saving power of God.

I enjoyed reading this book of Shawn Michaels
I enjoyed reading this book of Shawn Michaels, what I like about this book is that not just about his amazing wrestling career but he also talks about his faith and been a Christian. Shawn Michaels has always been my favourite wrestler and I was amazed to know that he had turned his life around and became a Christian. Some people may say it does not talk much about his wrestling career as Shawn Michaels said this book was to do with faith then his wrestling career. If your true Shawn Michaels fan will enjoy book no matter what the context of the is book. This is a must read.

Good read
I really enjoyed this book, I was watching some wwf videos for nostalgia’s sake (I’m from the wwf era) and came across a random video of Shawn’s testimony and was shocked to find out he had become a Christian, a few videos later and I bought the book. It was a fantastic read, learning about his faith and walk with the Lord. I would recommend this book and I’m already lending it to my brother who’s favourite wrestler was Shawn!
