Not a great box for beginners

PHOTOS WERE WONDERFUL. DESCRIPTIONS, HELPFUL. PAINT COLORS AND MIXTURES OF PAINT COLORS WERE TERRIFIC.

I have been a bird carver for around 20 years. My focus has been on songbirds. I have always strived for realism which is the result of studying the detail. I am now moving into birds of prey and this book is outstanding. The detailed reference in this book will allow me to accomplish today what took me 5 years of observation and study on songbirds.

The Illustrated Owl is an outstanding reference book in all aspects. The plates are clear and accurate; this isa book that any wood carver should have in their library as well as wildlife artists and naturalists. I am notaware of any other owl book that has the wealth of information that is presented in The Illustrated Owl. Ihighly recommend this book for all public and private libraries.

A great book, already loaned to two people in my wood-carving class! Clear diagrams and the most incredible detail. You could never want more from a book on owl-carving.

Denny Rogers books are a must for all Bird Carvers. The information contained between these covers is unbelievable ! Descriptions, Drawings,Measurements and the birds are shown in so many different attitudes Here is almost all of the information you could possibly ever require to tackle carving these subjects, I have all the Denny Rogers offerings and consider them superb value!!

Great book

チェーンソーカービングでフクロウを彫ることが好きなのだが、まだまだ技量が未熟なため細部や表情の彫り込みが難しい。本書は参考になればと思い購入。イラストの描き方が実に繊細だ。描かれている表情や姿勢など観ていて飽きない。
