"[FIND YOUR SANDGRENS SIZE] Unsure about your Sandgrens size? Don’t worry, we’ll help you. Please follow the steps below: 1. Stand up straight on a solid surface with your heels against the wall and a piece of blank paper taped to the floor. 2. Measure both feet from your heel to the tip of your longest toe to ensure proper fit. Take the longest measurement and ADD 1/16 of an inch (0.2 cm) or more if additional comfort is needed. 3. Compare your measurement against the sizing chart. Note: The chart shows the actual base measurement of the foot bed. [CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER] Vegetable tanned leather does not contain synthetic coatings and since natural materials such as tree bark are used during the tanning process. Initially you may find the leather to be more rigid than our other leather types, but rest assured it will break in. There might be scars and marks on your vegetable tanned leather, which is the result of leather being a living material. Vegetable tanned leather clogs (other than the nude color) can be polished with shoe polish or cleaned with any common shoe cleaner. [CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: NUBUCK LEATHER] Nubuck is naturally sensitive to water. This means they should not be your companion next time you are out in the rain. Moreover, do not apply shoe polish to your clogs. Instead, we recommend using a horsehair brush regularly to avoid any dirt turning into a permanent stain. [CARING FOR YOUR CLOGS: WOODEN BASE] Do not wear your wooden base clogs in heavy rain, as it may result in the wood swelling. Wood clogs are rigid and will therefore not stretch or bend. Although rigid, wood is a fragile material that is subject to chips and/or cracks from striking hard surfaces. If you do chip your wood base, you can glue the piece back using regular wood glue or use sandpaper to even out the surface, depending on the size of the chip. Sandpaper can also help remove marks and dirt from the wood."

Super cute but takes work to make work
Super cute but ran way too narrow. There's an informational card about the leather being stiff and that it would warm up after wear, but it was so stiff I could barely get my foot in the shoe. When I finally got it in, realized not only was the leather super stiff, the base was too narrow for my foot.***update***After a lot of work these are one of my go-to clogs. They need some warming up. I spent the first couple of days wetting a cotton towel with boiling water on the insides of the shoe before putting them on the help them mold to my feet better. I'd say it took about a week of doing this to get them to loosen up.Now they're a go-to pair and are really comfy. The only reason I'm giving 4 and not 5 is because they took work to make work.

this is a beautiful clog, well made and aesthetically pleasing
First, this is a beautiful clog, well made and aesthetically pleasing.I wear and ordered a size 39 which was my error since the purchase info CLEARLY states:NOTE! Our closed back clogs, clog boots and high-rise heel clogs run small. Therefore, we recommend moving up one size. Please refer to sizing guide in the last pictureMy error and I will try to return for the size 40.

Love Love Love
These clogs are so elegant; nice enough to wear on a date or to a business meeting. Was looking for something in a funky complimentary color (I’m a Soft Spring, so it’s difficult to find my colors in nice styles) and this is perfect. The heel height to platform ratio is also ideal.I have wider than average feet and these are narrow on me, but putting stretchers in them overnight seemed to help. I imagine they will stretch overtime as well. The back does slip a little, as they are supposed to, so a bit snug in the width is good anyway. The apex of the arch is carved slightly too far forward, however. To make them more comfortable I’ll probably insert third party arch supports. Luckily, with this style, it should be completely invisible. I don’t see myself standing in these all day as they really aren’t working clogs. But walking for a few hours in them is doable.Since they are handmade I expected an imperfection or two, but the only one I found is shown in the pic, where there is a small spot of stain missing on the left shoe. I can fix it easily myself (very carefully), so I don’t mind, considering the quality.Yes, the cost is high compared to similar products here, but considering the thoughtful design and the higher quality I don’t mind paying a bit more. (I really appreciate that the neat staples look like a design element and the embossed logo is not visible more than a four feet away on this color.) If it were $50 less I could see myself buying a pair of these every year. As it is, I’ll probably just try to take good care of them with a suede shoe brush and have them re-soled when needed.A note on the size: lots of reviewers are saying to go up a size. I’m a 7- 7 1/2 and I’ve never worn a European size lager than a 38. So I took the time to measure per the instructions, both feet, and I’m glad I did. My standard size of 38 fits perfectly.Enjoy!

The shoe does fit tight.
I ordered the 40 first . They fit but I felt like it was slipping off my foot too much . So I decided to go with the 39 only because my foot is really narrow I wish there would be 1/2 sizes. But over all this is a beautifully made shoe . Returning was made easy. If you have a wide foot you will really need to go up in size . But if you are narrow like me it may be too big to go up.

In love!
After reading reviews and checking measurements off their website I decided to order up and they’re perfect. Dansko I always seem to be a 38. Swedish Hasbeens I go between 37 and 38 depending on the base. These sandgrens I went with a 39 and I’m so glad I did. To everyone who has a problem with width and the thick leather - you have to be patient breaking in clogs. I have very wide feet and sometimes it takes putting on a pair of damp socks and wearing your clogs around the apartment for a few hours. It’s worth it though. I recommend stretching them with your feet. If you use a shoe stretcher you run the risk of going too big and there is no going back.

Beware, you might get sent someone else’s return
I was super excited to receive these but that excitement subsided when I opened the package. First of all, they came without the box which seemed odd. Second, they we’re not new. These have been clearly worn before and absolutely no effort was made to conceal the fact. There is scuffing on one of the toes, someone else’s toe impressions are in the wood, the soles show wear and there is skin on the heel of one of them. I’m sooooooo bummed. I sincerely hope this is not the case for everyone else who orders them. I never write reviews but I felt people should know what could happen.

I ordered a full size larger, fits great
Thanks to other reviews, I knew this clog ran small, I am usually a size 39/40 (measured at size 9 w/a medium width, & high arches) & the size 41 fits great & with room for socks. For the summer, in order to wear these sockless, I’ve added a flat terry insert (which also has a very thin sisel layer, made by Pedag) & that makes them still fit with bare feet and very comfy. The instructions in the box suggested a waterproof type sealant be added to the leather but I’ve not done this yet. I love the rocker style sole of these -and most clogs; very comfortable.

Stylish yet built to last
I bought these after an embarrassing and annoying occurrence: the soles of my expensive, made for comfort clogs fell apart during an important meeting with a lawyer. I decided not to mess around with plastic, back to the wooden soles clogs of my youth....yes if you run across the snow in dead of night you’ll soon be three inches taller, elevated on “clog made “ snowballs. So hey don’t do that. You’re not fourteen anymore. These were immediately comfortable if not a tiny bit stiff. They can be polished with shoe polish. In short, I adore them
