Aspenware Compostable Wooden Cutlery Fork, 12-Piece

I'm a big fan of disposables... I live in an apartment with a tiny kitchen where sink space is precious, but while paper plates & bowls have been a staple here for a long time, I have never really gotten used to using plastic flatware. Recently I started using an induction burner (the Duxtop - sold here on Amazon) for cooking and while the stainless cookware I bought with it warns against using metal implements, I was concerned about stirring scrambled eggs in a hot fry pan with a plastic fork!So I picked up a package of these wooden forks and I couldn't be happier! They are well made (there are no splinters like you might find on disposable chopstix) and they are perfect for cooking as well as eating!And as a bonus, unlike plastic, they are bio-degradable so there is no lasting affect on the environment. I will buy these again (along with the spoons) whenever I run low.

We host a 100+ person party every year and are always looking for ways to streamline cleanup. This year, we opted to get these compostable forks. I wish I could tell you it's because we wanted to save the earth, but another big factor was ease of cleanup -- just throw these into the compost with all the food waste and paper bowls! We liked that these really break down fast -- Taterware and similar products are *technically* compostable, but might not actually break down in a typical commercial facility. Wood does. I cleaned some of mine and plan to use again. We picked these up to potentially use at a wedding. The design is very nice. I just hope the environmental benefit of using these outweigh regular plastic.
