Really good book for medical or nursing students, or for first year trainee psychiatrists. It’s lively, fun and easy to read. I recommend it to all the medical students I teach.

I am student mental health social worker and was looking for a text to support me during my placement and help me understand the medical model more. This book is well laid out and really accessible. I would recommend to all in caring professions who want a better understanding of psychiatry.

A step up in terms of content compared to the first edition - updated to reflect current research and practice. New chapter on forensic psychiatry. Gorgeous artwork and diagrams. Remains a firm favourite for me as a junior doctor. If you loved the first edition, you'll love this very accessible, entertaining and unique psychiatry textbook!
