This is THE one you're looking for
This is THE solution for using a vacant dryer receptacle.Simple as plugging in a power strip, and works as advertised. In my case I wanted to use the newly vacated dryer receptacle and that beefy circuit after buying one of those newer ventless washer/dryer combos. Perfect - now easily powering a fridge, microwave and the new w/d from the same outlet (small kitchen). This was THE one I was looking for...

Excellent 220 to 120 Adapter
I had put in a gas range. There was this 220 Volt for an electric range. I wanted to turn this 220 Volt to a 120 Volt. I had to change the 220 receptacle to one that had an angle in it, for the adapter to fit in it. That was a a quick change. This adapter works perfectly and my gas range now has a receptacle for the 120 Volt. This adapter is worth every penny. An outstanding product.

Works like a charm
I had a pre-installed power port for EV, but I wanted to use it for some lights instead. And voila, it worked :)

Ties neutral to ground. Unsafe without modification.
"Bootleg grounds" where the neutral and ground lines are tied together are unfortunately common in older homes, but are unsafe as the ground can now be carrying current unexpectedly. Really not sure why they did that. Do some research on "bootleg grounds" to be sure that you know what you are getting and how to use this safely.Changed my review from 2 to 4 stars. Item works, and easy enough to float the ground if your need arises. Just wish I would have known bout the grounding issue before ordering.

Does the trick, but has some considerations
Overall, this product does exactly what it says it'll do. You plug it into a 220/240V dryer outlet, and you get standard 120V outlets for use. Be warned though, you're not getting a proper ground, or the proper 15A breaker protection that a normal outlet should provide! There are a few options for improving this if that's a concern, though one is probably largely fine as-is.Nonetheless, a GFCI outlet would be a good safety measure with this as a result. For those curious, it isn't magic. In the US, there are two hot wires coming into your house, and a neutral. Individually, a hot wire to neutral is 120VAC, but across both of those hot wires, you get 240VAC. A standard 10-30P dryer outlet then uses both of those hot wires to get the 240V and on the third pin the neutral (with no proper ground connection). This adapter uses one of the hot wires for the NEMA 5-15R hot (the second hot is simply disconnected), and then uses the neutral wire connection for both the NEMA 5-15R neutral and ground connection. This will also result in the NEMA 5-15R plug being able to draw 30A, which isn't ideal (a GFCI with an integrated 15A breaker would be an ideal pairing for this to solve the grounding concerns and overcurrent concerns). It's a little disappointing that this doesn't provide a proper ground connection or schematic/documentation on the connections. I was particularly hoping that one of the outlets would be on the second hot connection, but it's not a big deal that it doesn't.
