Perfect for a pack
Got this for a pack in hunting trip. Good weight and can do everything its meant to do. The head is what sold me because when you are 7 miles deep and the handle splits it can be a pain. Great for building blinds and splitting firewood. I did strip the finish and put boiled linseed oil on it. My only complaint is the the edge was as sharp as a butter knife. I spent about 2 hours reshaping and puting a shaving edge on it that made it a much more usefull tool.

Great camping axe
First shipping was fast even with this whole covid stuff going onSecond this is now my go to camping axe its light enough to pack in built well enough to chop up small trees and branchesThird the quick change ability sold me on this and it works as advertised 3 minutes you can go from a broken useless axe head to a useful axe againNow for the down sideIt's not a full size axe head so you will have a harder time finding replacement handlesIt is too small to use to chop anything bigger than a 5 inch diameter tree I wont be using it for downing trees anyway I'll be using it to chop up firewood in the back country

Amazing axe but here are some extera details.
The media could not be loaded. This axe (Camp Axe) the one with the "quick change axe head" has a perfact shape on both the head and handle. The handle has an amazing finish. That being said this is a more technical axe. You need more tools to replace the handle due to the pin and screw location. This axe comes blunt and half finished on one side. I believe this is intentional but to finish it you would have to complete the grind on the half finished side. This axe is amazingly ballenced and that is probably because it comes across as more of a compotition axe. It is labeled camp axe but I would not hammer with it since it has a slit down the back as to be able to "quick change" the axe head. And the shape is extremely thin then bumps out around the handle once again coming across as more of a throwing axe than a chopping or splitting axe. The axe how ever is extremely light and sturdy and will probably chop fine but Im not sure it will split as easily as its counter part the trail boss. I love both axes but I belive this one may be slightly miss represented as an axe of convenience when in my opinion it is a more technical axe. Dont get me wrong it is a work of art but if you want a simpler axe to camp with I reccomend the trail boss over the "quick change" axe though the handle on the Trail Boss all though its the same hadle and quality it slightly less finished aka just their is less coating on it which in my opinion may be a good thing for a working axe and it is very slightly less ballenced as the axe head has a little more mass due to its fuller shape once again probably bonuses for a working axe.

Great quality
Very light mid size axe, i truthfully enjoy the clamp on head. It does seem a little smaller then a standard axe head but with that in mind its not a full length axe so this is perfect for what i need . I still bust firewood for my primary heat source for my home so this will be a great addition to my collection of tools and i feel very confidence in carrying this is my camp or hiking bag. For smaller hard woods or possibly medium size soft wood blocks. The only issue i may have is that for the price i kinda wish it came with a blade cover but thats really just for backpacking use. The blade is fairly sharp out of box but for some blade enthusiast they may consider it to be "dull" so please be mindful as a company you wouldn't want to ship out razr sharp tools that travels thousands of miles before it gets into the hands of a responsible adult. So giving the absumption you know how to sharpen a blade with a stone ( i never heat my metal with a grinder) it wouldn't take maybe 5 minutes to put a hair splitting razor edge on the axe blade the way it comes factory. I truthfully enjoy the full quality of the axe and handle and i truthfully respect everything that goes into the art and functions . Iv used the same axe head for the last 25 years so depending on performance. I may have found my new favorite tool for mild wood harvesting, work around the house,or even a day trip out hiking or fishing overnight . I am truly impressed by the craftsmanship of the axe of how tight everything was out of box and looks or design are truly beautiful to me being natural hickory with clear coat . No dyes or wood stain to ruin something so magnificent!

Cool steel axe.
Haven’t used this item yet but don’t have much optimism in its longevity. Certainly not as strong as I hoped and not gonna perform the duties that I had hoped it would. More like a hatchet with and long handle rather than an axe.

Very poor design leads to safety concerns
The only decent part of this axe is the handle, which I’ll probably end up using for something else. The axe head itself is smaller and much lighter than it should be for a full-size axe and is attached in such a way as to make it unsafe. It’s not a solid piece of metal like every other axe head on the market, and is attached to the handle with only two bolts (no shims in the handle). I’ve had to retighten them multiple times and today, one of the cheap metal “nuts” broke completely.

I love this axe
Chopped down a tree in my backyard and the accuracy and sharpness allowed me to lay a very large Cherry Laurel down in a very narrow placement perfectly. This axe is great!
