Strikes a chord
A lovely, easy read that takes you into what looks like a privileged life, but has its own challenges. It beautifully describes a sense of loss that many women have deep down, as they make choices that may leave their sense of fulfillment behind. Read it!

Delightful read!
This book was a real surprise. I bought it because of its title and assumed it would be one of those books that you read to kill time, but it ended up being a lot more than that. It is a lovely nuanced piece of story-telling with a self aware and reflective protagonist at heart who is also very funny. Our perception of India is very different from the reality evidently and this book creates a world that not many Westerns know exists in India. Read it!

Witty
Shunali Shroff brings her signature wit and humour to the 1%. She creates a believable cast of characters who inhabit this world, and exposes some of the chinks in their glamorous armour. Unpretentious writing makes it an easy read on the go.

Fun, fast paced novel
“Love in...” is a fast paced, lively story set in the upper socio-economic strata of an urban milieu. Readers from that subset of society are likely to find it especially relatable. And for the others, it offers an amusing, vicarious peek into the lives of the ‘much haves’. Personally speaking, it vastly improved my knowledge of luxury brands ;). Recommended for anyone looking for a fun, quick story with a good plot.

Love is love
Shunali Khullar Shroff never disappoints! Positioned as a book that takes a sneak peak into the lives of Mumbai’s elite, beyond the obvious, there are many layers to this book, one of them being Natasha’s journey back to being a working woman after dedicating several years to being a full time mother. This book makes you laugh out loud and often at yourself because every woman will find some part of herself in the main protagonist. It takes a special talent to draw out the hilarity of everyday mundane situations. Grab your copy now , you won’t regret it !

Fascinating, soulful, vicarious peep into the 'haves' of Bombay society.
Love In The Times of Affluenza is a fascinating, vicarious peep into the lives of the 'haves' from the upper most strata of Bombay society. Natasha, the bumbling protagonist is sharp as a nail and her witty, self deprecating manner makes her instantly endearing and accessible, despite her life in a glass tower that most of India can possibly only imagine. The writer clearly knows her characters inside out and is part of the world she writes about, but she stops short of making fun of her characters, instead choosing to go beyond the surface level glitz and glam and speak about the complexities of relationships, of the search for an identity, and the inner rebellion against the social constructs of a 'womans place' in society, a common thread between women from all socio economic backgrounds, even if their challenges manifest itself in different ways. Natasha's relationship with her husband and kids feels real, and the people populating her world feel like flesh and blood characters. I am a huge fan of Kevin Kwan books, but this book I particularly enjoyed, it made me feel I could bump into Natasha at any point.

Bombay Society at it's best
Shunali has an uncanny insight into the lives of Bombay women and with this book she captures them in all their hues. Fun, insecure, vulnerable, frustrated. One of the few novels written through the eyes of a married socialite, Shunali's writing takes the reader to Soho House observing these very people.

Fab piece of Fiction! Don’t miss!
Love this book! I could not put this book down. It was hilarious and at the same time SO relatable ! Women from across different social strata of society will find their own stories in it or those of women around them. I loved Natasha’s inner monologues and the rare lens that she looks at the joys of her world and woes with. I am now waiting for a sequel!

Practical
Love in the times of affluenza is so pertinent in the times in which we find ourselves . Times where people are quick to pass judgment , not once stopping to think what the other person’s situation could be like . Shunali points out both perspectives in a very witty way ...Everyone can relate to the story in bits and parts ...thoroughly enjoyed reading the book .

All we want is Love ...even in the time of Affluenza !
Disclaimer: I’m a friend of the authors but this is an unbiased review.Shunali’s writing is witty & smart just like she is ... but beneath all that wit lies a depth of feelings. Her heroine Natasha could be you ... she’s relatable & real. And throughout the book you are rooting for her. Because all we ever want is Love even in the times of Affluenza !

Gets on your hands on this book....
A refreshing voice, this author has my attention from the very first passage of this book. I loved the characters and the forever conflicted protagonist’s inner voice. I thoroughly enjoyed the social commentary, the twists in the plot and the delicious peek into the lives of India’s wealthy.

Captivating story teller.
The book was as engrossing and witty as Shunali’s first book. I’m a fan of her writing style... in this book she takes us through a layered and nuanced style through Natasha’s lens...with enough humour thrown in. I personally loved Natasha and what she stands for.
