Before you buy this lift watch the videos available on YouTube. The lift is excellent but the person being lifted needs to be able to participate. We are going through some learning and my wife may not be the ideal candidate for the machine. We previosly used a lift you pump wih a lever and that worked but with lots of discomfort for both of us. The computers gave us some bad tracking numbers which caused some confusion but Phillips gave great customer service to get that straightened out. It is a great machine and the vendor was great but my guess is people should get advice from a physical therapist before they buy any lift to better understand what they are doing before buying.

The product is well made, with two batteries. There aren't any instructions for how to use a sling with it. The sling is uncomfortable for my wife, which makes me wonder if it isn't being used correctly. I also can't find any videos on proper sling placement.

We love this Hoyer lift. Toileting was a real challenge until be bought this lift and it removes stress and makes the task so much more pleasant.

I use this hoyer to transport my husband from the bed to his wheelchair, shower chair, toilet, etc, the leg’s open up when I am trying to get him through a door way or just trying to get him from point A to point B, it is very frustrating. Will probably have to return it.

Very happy with purchase. We purchased the Joerns sit to stand because of its portability, it is smaller and lighter than a previous unit we had rented. My husband uses the unit for me several times a day, transfers to/from wheelchair, shower chair, toilet, bed. We use it to dress me in pants.We have taken it with us for a hotel stay. The concept of the hoyer lift is great. The problem with the one we received is that it was damaged and it looks like it has been used. The unit comes with wheels in place and basically all you have to do is unfold it. The back caster wheels were both bent and would not move if you pulled it backwards or tried to turn it. The tray to stand on is not level. If we don't have this piece of equipment, it takes 5 people to transfer my husband. We bought this very expensive lift as an urgently needed device. I have tried to find someone to contact and I emailed the Amazon...Replace an Item site but have not heard from them. This is so frustrating! Looking forward to being contacted and to getting a replacement ASAP!

Poor instructions & no standing sling

This is one of the best inventions ever. Being an in-home caregiver is now always totally safe with no chance for an accident to happen. From bed to wheelchair or from wheelchair to the bathroom, it brings consistency to our parent and makes everything so consistent that with the dementia is not a confusing event. Our parent would be wheelchair bound or bed bound, but now smiles so big as she can stand safely embraced by this product as we together enjoy looking outside through the windows. My hope is everyone that reads this will not wait till the need has urgency, but instead get the peace and practice time so transition to this part of routine brings joy to all!
