American Weigh Scales Series Digital Pocket Weight Scale Backlit LCD Stainless-Steel Surface 100g x 0.01g, (Silver), AWS-100-SIL

I'm using this to measure out salt, sugar and other small amounts of ingredients for bread making. If it cost any more I'd say it was overkill. It only measures up to 70 g so the ingredient container needs to be significantly less that the 70 g. This rules out my Anchor Hocking measuring tumblers. A very small Glad plastic storage container works perfectly. I just tare out the weight of the container before adding ingredients to weigh. I'm new to baking and recently learned weight measurements are much more accurate than volume so I convert everything. My kitchen scale works fine for measuring out the flour, water and such but for anything below say 10 g then I needed something more responsive. This scale measures down to 0.01 g which is more accuracy than needed. The big advantage is you can see the numbers climb as you add tiny amounts of ingredients. My kitchen scale jumps a gram at a time. The build seems very quality. I'm surprised that for under $10 I could pick up such a decent product. I have a 50 g weight on the way to check the accuracy. Another overkill for my purposes but it appeals to my geek nature.

I can only remark for light use(not every day) but it seems like a decent little scale, it's accurate down to 20mg, which is good enough for what I need it for.

Perfect? Accuracy, precision, price, durability, ease of use, battery saving feature, battery life span, size, folding hard case, weight...in fact...everything about these scales is perfect. I bought two of them almost a decade ago, and they have been thoroughly abused and smacked around mercilessly, yet every time I calibrate them I find there was pretty much no reason to do so. They hold their calibration nicely, and are wildly precise. I just bought two more of them because the old ones are getting dirty and gross (all my fault), and at this price, retiring them to a backup role is an easy choice. I can't explain how happy I was to see that these were still available when I looked them back up. Based on other reviews, it seems the whole world also knows what I have discovered over the years. For me it's now AWS or nothing.

Has all the features as advertised and very easy to use. I love the tare weight feature that allows you to weigh the empty container and subtracts it from the total weight when weighing with contents. It does metric and imperial. The display is good and clear. It can weigh up to 1kg but the weighing area is very small, admittedly making it very compact! It is very accurate and you can use it to calculate US postage. Well worth every penny.

I bought this because I saw on the units it had carats but I can’t get the units to carats. It just goes between g, oz, ozt, and dwt when I press mode
