Access to a wise mind
Gregory of Nyssa is an under-rated author from the fourth century. This compact and lovely book uses the story of Moses as a starting point for a meditation on the Christian's inner journey. Moses begins by experiencing God is light in the Burning Bush, but then has to climb into the darkness at the top of Mount Sinai. plenty of thought-provoking stuff about the essential un-knowableness of God. The translation is readable and the introduction and comments useful. Highly recommended.
