Lobo: Unbound Paperback – January 3, 2012

If you are a fan of Lobo (which I am) this book is wonderful.The art work of Alex Horley makes it feel as though the whole book is a painted album cover for a metal band and it really looks fantastic. This has become one of my favorite interpretations of the characters appearances and is my all time favorite Lobo story, so far, I love his series run but this book is a great standalone. Sadly his series 65 issues long has yet to get trade release from DC Comics.The writing of Keith Giffen proves he gets his character.Lobo is as tough as nails embodying everything about the 90s in comics sexy, violence and parody, satire of pop culture is all here.In this book...The main man is down on his luck losing his rank as the top bounty hunter in the business and has entered a bit of a state of depression.He needs to earn back his spot from Bling Bling the bimbo who cost him to lose it in the first place.Along the way Lobo meets even Ambush Bug another Keith Giffen creation and comedy ensues.Enjoy the tongue in cheek, raunchy humor of a comic that indulges in the insanity of space travel, alien politics as Lobo becomes king of the planet Yabba-Dabba-Doo, the occasional sex, booze and violence. Oh man there is plenty of that.I say pick it up and enjoy this book, you won't regret it.Unless you want some sort of serious deep and a story that makes ya ponder the mysteries of life in which case..."Bite me Fanboys!" - Lobo

Lobo kills the "leader" of a planet unknowingly making him the new leader. It's a job he doesn't want, not long anyway. So he has to try a lot of ways to get out of it. NOT great but pretty good. His way at end is AWESOME.

The plot is really not there but the characters are. All in all it's a really good entry point for any fan of Lobo from the Superman animated series.

For the price I would have paid for this new, this item was superb and I enjoyed reading it knowing that I saved a few pennies.

Not one of the best lobo books I've read but its pretty good. great artwork and the story is ok. Best if broken up over a few days.

Not as good as any of Alan Grant's "Lobo" comic books.
