Based on reviews, I couldn't tell if this robe would shrink or not. Product description on amazon said fabric had been preshrunk, but some reviews said robe did shrink. Some reviews over the years said fabric was 100% cotton and other reviews said it was cotton polyester blend. The label in my robe said it was 100% cotton and the fabric care label inside said not to put it in dryer, so my guess was that it wasn't preshrunk as advertised and that it would shrink if it was put in dryer. Small size robe was about 2 inches too long for me at 5'2" and sleeves were about 1" too long; XS would have been better but it was sold out in the ivory color I wanted. I decided to keep it and wash and dry it to shrink it. The sleeves shrunk to a perfect length, and length of robe shrunk enough that it no longer dragged on the floor. So in March 2019, this robe is currently made of 100% cotton and will shrink in the dryer.

I am 5’6” 155lbs I ordered a large and it’s so awesome! I usually wear medium in coats but wanted this to wrap really well and be on the long side. It’s about an inch and a half from the floor. Sleeves are spot on. I think a medium would have been too perfect with little overlapping in the front, and too small after a wash. The fabric is very soft and would make a wonderful gift! The thickness is just right. I’m a mover and a shaker and I won’t get too hot in this zipping around the house. This robe is very impressive, something you would find at an upscale store. This type of robe is hard to come by!

It’s a beautiful robe but I wished I’d sized up even more. I’m 5’9, 145lbs and normally wear a medium. I bought the large thinking it would give me the extra “cozy” room. I wish I’d bought the extra large because it just fits. It closes over well and covers everything but there is no extra room. The sleeves aren’t quite long enough so I’ve rolled them up. If I had to do it over again, I’d order an XL. The good news is I washed it (in cold) and dried it (on low) as soon as I took it out of the package and it didn’t seem to shrink at all! I’m tall, as I said 5’9, and it hits about 2” above my ankles. The colors are beautiful, it’s a nice weight and it seems to be well made. I’m looking forward to throwing it on after a shower. Again, I don’t regret the purchase at all...I just wished I’d gone one size bigger.

I'm very pleased with this robe!! It is absolutely gorgeous!! The colors are every bit as vibrant as the picture reflects. At 5'7" and 185 lbs, I'm glad I had the presence of mind to order an extra large. Otherwise, I don't think it would fall below my ankles. I appreciate the (inside) satin ribbon ties too, even though they could be a bit more substantial. I'm concerned that they may come off at some point although this is not a deal breaker. Also, contrary to what some other reviewers have reported, I've found the sleeves to be of ample length. (I wonder whether this is because it's an extra large). In fact, I'll have to fold them back to keep them clean when necessary. I bought it in order to have something perky to wear for my new infant granddaughter as her mom places her in my arms each morning as she goes off to work.As for the reason I'm only giving 4 stars, the thickness is not quite what I'd hoped for. I've not forgotten my Victoria Secret bathrobe of 1992. It served me quite well for years. It is the barometer by which I judge all (potential) successors.This new robe, as beautiful as it is, will have to measure up in durability especially at the hefty sum of $75. I will report back as time passes, God willing.

Recently I had to rid myself of my terry cloth robe from Kohl's because of numerous bleach stains. I came across this robe in a very pretty raspberry color and I was looking forward to trying it.The robe does not really have a flattering design. Once you try it, of course it's going to cinch at the waist, and it may show your butt outline; however, it's not as flattering as something on the lines of lingerie would be. The pockets are roomy enough to hold your cell phone, TV remote, and/or some snacks. The color is very pretty. You're able to close it with the belt, which can be secured with the two belt loops.The robe is super long, just the way I like it! I'm about 5'6" and the robe touches the top of my foot. I don't really have any complaints about this robe. The only thing that I wish it had was more plushness. If I recall correctly, my other robe was a little thicker. Perhaps over time, the robe will soften more when washed and dried. Although pricey, it's perfect!

WEIGHT: I wouldn’t describe the fabric as heavy or thick, but the robe overall is heavy, due to its length. I doubt anyone would want a heavier robe than this.CONVENIENT and ABSORBENT: I wanted to be able to throw it on when getting out of our hot tub or shower and this is absorbent enough that I don’t need a towel. Usually I prefer the step-in, zip-up style robe that stays closed over my legs, but those are awkward when climbing out of our outdoor hot tub in the freezing cold air.MODIFICATIONS: I may sew on a piece of Velcro to keep it closed around my knees when I sit down. And maybe replace the almost inadequate, thin satin ribbon tie on the inside of the robe with some Velcro as well .... or maybe with a heavier, non-slippery ribbon that’s easier to cinch up and tie.FIT: I’m 5’7”, size 14, and the XL fits well with an comfortable amount of overlap while keeping the pockets where they need to be. The length reaches to the top of my feet. I have to fold up the sleeves but my arms are short and most long-sleeves are too long for me.OVERALL: For those who prefer/need a wrap-around style robe with its related shortcomings, this robe is lovely, long, and elegant.
