Wonderful spade terminals.First the hex head screws are much better that the standard slotted screws one usually finds. They are good quality and the hex head allows one to tighten them without a screwdriver skipping or stripping the head. Even better the hex head and wrench allows one to REALLY tighten them down to the point of compressing the copper wire inside until they “cold weld” and fuse together as they do with a real good crimp. I checked a couple wires and the copper strands had fused together and were bright copper even after a year of use (like a proper crimped connection). This means the connection at the screw is air tight and won’t corrode over time. Better than a solder connection in fact. You really need to use a great deal of torque and relatively fine stranded wire but it’s wonderful. Moreover, Depending on wire thickness one can screw through the wire jacket on one screw and Into thr copper and still get an airtight seal at the screw.The slot at the fork end allows one to see exactly where the copper is and I suppose perhaps solder at that point (not needed, see above). Of course it also lets air in so the wire inside might oxidize. But this is not an issue because it’s airtight at the screws. Anyway, even with heatshrink except marine grade heatshrink, will allow some air penetration. Plus one could spray cleaner into the slot every so often if one wanted to. Or you could use marine grade heat shrink to cover it and the other end.The forks are super slick. It’s true that some texture side might help make a more secure connection at the post. But it will also scrap up your posts, penetrating the metal plating and allowing oxidation if the posts are copper, brass or non stainless steel. I was able to get a very tight grip that will not loosen. You need good binding posts anyway.So..excellent!

These are pretty good quality. The spades are nice and golden. But I would recommend at least 12 awg, more preferably 10 awg wire for these if you want a perfect seal with the provided heat-shrink tubes. I used it with standard Monoprice Access Series OFC CL2 14 AWG copper speaker wire from Amazon. It's fine for me but really 12 awg should be minimum, not 14 awg.

These are stout spade connectors. Fit 8 AWG wire with no problems. Gold coating is very nice and thick. The included heat shrink (4 red, 4 white) is a nice touch. The "Monsaudio" lettering on the heat shrink rubs off pretty easily. Doesn't matter to me but might to some. The spades fit my speaker and amp binding posts perfectly. Recommended.

Like most reviews they will not tighten to the binding post. It is a shame they are made well, but you will lose signal if they are not tightened well.May 5I had to retract my earlier review. I understand why the clips are made the way they are. After some thought I decided to take some vice grips and carefully squeeze the two ends together to close the gap. Afterwards, there was no slippage and it tighened very well. I over tighen one but eventually went on. I plan on doing the other side this weekend. I recommend this purchase.

Have had a lot of mixed results with made in China speaker connectors - many seemed very cheaply made, with set screws that stripped easily or would not make decent contact with either 12ga or 10ga wire. These were great - nicely made, the hex-head set screws did not strip, and they are made of copper instead of brass. Quick and easy to install - a simple product that is well-made and does what it is supposed to!

Almost perfect, If this spade had a roughed up edge ON BOTTOM ONLY it would prevent this super smooth surface from sliding around or even off the speaker binder post. It is a nice solid ONE PIECE spade that has two hex screws that you can really crank down on. Easily accepted my 12ga Monoprice speaker wire, also accepted my 10ga wire on another set of speakers. Note I used Red and black electrical tape so I can re-use them if I need to.

Good product but return it because it didn't size out to be what it needed to be just make sure your size is good before ordering

Great looking and functioning spade lugs. Easy to assemble. Shrink wrap works well. I used these to make a set of quality speaker cables - the kind I used to pay big bucks for.
