Great Value
Got this M-D product to replace an LVP-type transition strip that was poorly installed by the guy who installed new carpet on our stairs. The LVP strip, while nice because it matched the LVP floor, was also not ideal because it was on the thick side, making for more of a trip hazard, and also because it wasn't very wide, so it didn't adequately cover the gap between the LVP plank and carpet. I decided to replace the transition strip myself, and the M-D strip is a major improvement.Pros:- Great value. It's inexpensive, but high quality.- Installs flatter than the rounded, thicker LVP-type transition strip, so less of a trip hazard.- Is wider, therefore more forgiving when there is a larger gap between flooring surfaces.- Is easy to cut to length with a standard hack saw.- The 3M strip is very sticky. However, just for added security, I ran a bead of Liquid Nails down each side of the bottom strip.- Looks great.Cons:- None.

Attach track first!
Great product! Love the ease of installation! One thing I would recommend is to attach the track prior to removing adhesive and then install as a whole unit. Also love ❤️ the look of the install as no screws showing & no screw holes to clean. I installed it myself (67 yr old woman) in less than 30 minutes, that includes cutting it to size.

"Satin Nickel" does not mean what it used to if you've ordered this before.
Manufacturer changed colors of the item, but not the description. "Satin Nickel" does not mean what it used to if you've ordered this before. Not a shipping error, not an instance of receiving the wrong color, "satin nickel" was on several packages. I'll explain further:It is pretty odd. I purchased this item when I redid the floor in my living room. I scoured the internet and the big box stores for reducers that weren't tacky silver, gold, or light grain wood colors.. which apparently is 90 percent of the market for these items. In any event, I found this product, which was described as 'satin nickel' but at the time had images of a nice light brown with a hint of bronze (see my image, the reducer on the bottom). This was when I purchased this item for the first time, around summer 2014/5.Roughly one year ago, I was fixing a transition from tile to hardwood in my in-laws house, and I again ordered this part. I went directly to my order history, and re-ordered it. I again got the same color.A week or so ago, I decided to finally replace the rest of the transition pieces and reducers in my home to match this one, since I liked the color and build quality so much. I again went direct to my order history, verified it was the same product I received the last 2 times and re-ordered along with the transition pieces this time. See attached picture again (top reducer). Note, this isn't a shipping error.. or an error of receiving the wrong color, all three of my orders say "Satin Nickel". Now I know what you're probably thinking, and I agree, a light brownish bronze is not satin nickel, and the current representation is probably more accurate, which is likely why the company changed it. That is probably the case, but where did the the light brown/bronze go?! It's not on the manufacturer's website. I've found what looks like it on ace's website under the same manufacturer with a different color name (if that is to be trusted) and no matching transition pieces. The 2 reducers I have installed have been great. They don't scratch or chip, despite walking over them with boots constantly and my dog running across them, they are a perfect, nice color, and were super easy to install. I have to knock stars for completely altering a color and removing it from your company's catalog though. This is just flabbergasting from a consumer standpoint. Now I have to remove the reducer that is currently installed, and find a new product so they all can match.EditAdded a star back. Found the matching color at Lowe's under the color "spice". Still not certain if I got extremely unlucky and had two spice reducers come in satin nickel packaging, or if the company decided to go more silvery for satin nickel and then later offered the original color as "spice". In either event, now we (and hopefully any others running into the same issue) know.

Added my own nails just in case
Quick, easy, but I did use my own nails to hold the plastic strip in location, as my application was in a high traffic area. The adhesive was great while I nailed it into place.See phone for results. Bought two due to length needed to cover. Butted up very well. The photo was taken very close. My application was wood effect linoleum to carpet with underlay. Previous install was a metal strip, but our dog found out how to get the carpet out. Using this excellent product was half of the fix. The other half is training the dog.Would by again.

Looks good but won’t let you ever order more than 3?
WONT LET YOU BUY MORE THAN 3 EVERI bought 3 then accidentally messed one up- went to order another and it won’t let you. Literally says your have reached the limit. Doesn’t say that anywhere when you buy it so now I’m trying to match another random one with it. Looks great- but makes sure you don’t need more than three or your out of luck.

Impressive Threshold
I have cement floors, and laid low cut carpet in one room, which has two doors on which I installed these thresholds. They bridge the height difference from the carpet to the cement perfectly. What I am most impressed with is the 3M adhesive strip. I did not want to put holes into the cement, which is why I purchased these. They have been installed for over 6 months, and both doors get a decent amount of traffic. They look great and have not loosened or moved a bit. These are top notch for this application.

It Worked!
It worked. I removed carpeting in remodeled attic. The room looked very nice, but there was about a one-inch gap between the bedroom an bathroom due to the height differential between the rooms. This product covered the gap, and provided a smoother transition between the rooms it fits well and looks nice in place.

Bought Satin Nickel for the color. Had to glue it down.
COLOR- This SATIN NICKEL product color is true to the color seen in the listing photos; a warm metallic tan. (Cannot say the same for the SPICE color—which looks different in every photo; it’s very dark, almost brown.)INSTALLATION- I used this on 3 doorways to protect the transition from tile to carpet. The depth of the tile and mortar was too deep for this product. So I threw away the adhesive channel, and I glued the top metal strip to the tile and the concrete floor with heavy duty adhesive. Worked well. Looks good.
