Great so far
I'm liking these for work especially since they offer better protection than normal shoes yet aren't bulky like normal boots. However, the left shoes is decently more faded than the right and being black multicam you can notice the difference but it's not the end of the world but I'd probably go with straight black next time to avoid that in the future but otherwise these are great!

Great daily wear/light trail use
I have had these boots for a few months now and am at the point where I’m willing to write a review.I use the altama maritime assault boots as a daily wear, although I did get them with the intention of taking them out regularly out to the mangrove swamps and whatnot down here.ProsAs close to a minimalist boot as I’ve ever foundDrains easily- but they do stay wet. The drain holes let water in, but the rubber sole lets it slide right outTough material- idk what people are doing that they’re coming apart. I’ve taken mine into the ocean when snorkeling, hiking, kayaking.Easy to clean, there are no smell issues which is nice. I rinse them off in fresh water and a small brush and they look great. Even when I don’t bother- they’re easy enough to dust off even even dryConsPretty narrow toe box, I ordered a half size up and that worked out phenomenally for me, otherwise they’d be snugZero ankle support, this is a trade off for the comfort and mobility- but they do nothing to protect your ankleRubber insole is uncomfortable with or without socks- but the insole is easily removableI have worn these boots damn near daily- everything from bike rides and walks downtown to hiking swampy trails. There is a lot to be said for getting a pair of boots that drain- I enjoy the converse like aesthetic. Not interested in walking around looking like a brovet.

Sturdy, Comfortable.
Been wearing my pair for a couple years now, they're comfortable and sturdy, the stitching and soles are holding up pretty well and I'm hard on shoes. Certainly better value than the chucks they were inspired by.

6 month update
6 month update, still love them great on most surfaces, I have noticed on wet concrete the traction is still there and seems to get a little better. It's not a slip and slide mess. I added a few more pictures some of the stitching is coming up but I have not noticed an issue because of it. There is no glue separation from the toe rubber to the edge of the shoe. I think based on my neutral stance / interview stance the tread is wearing a little different on my drive brace leg side. I have ran in these, hiked in these in tough mountain terrain with lava rock, I've walked in rivers and along lakes on wet river rock no slip, they dry fast and I was a little hesitant that I would feel sharper rocks on the souls but I dont. I actually stepped on a roofing nail and dont know how long it was in the soul that day until I heard a clicking sound on the asphalt. I honestly do like them. I feel moble and agile in them. I like these boot shoes and they are holding up. So far 4 folks on my squad have switched to them as well. They are a true fit to size.First impression review. I just got off duty. I did alot of walking around today. Today I worked 13 hours but I had boots on for 15 of those house. I got home and my new Altama's were waiting at the door for me. I pulled them out of the box, looked at the stitching and then looked where the toe rubber connects to the cloth. It all seems real stout. Next I pulled the tissue from the shoes took my boots off. Which felt good in the first place. I tossed the new Altamas up in the air a few times, highly impressed with how light they are. I sat down on the couch and put them on. I was beside myself how COMFORTABLE they were after a 13 hour work day and a 15 hour day of wearing boots. I happily walked around and sent some of the guys on my squad a picture, stating they are finally here and I love them. They are truly comfortable. I'm impressed. Let's see if I can figure out how to do a review here in a few weeks and then again in a few months. If I like them I'm gonna talk my wife into letting me buy two more pairs. I want the multi cam for hiking around the woods at my cabin and if I can talk my SRT, team leader into the coyote I'll get one of those for wearing on the team. So far so good but mind you I've only been I possession of them for for 2 hours. Send me questions if you have them and I will update you. I ordered 9.5W because that's what I wear and they fit perfectly. Order to size.

Overall a Great Shoe
I ordered the all Black size 11 high tops, and right away I loved the look, and after a brief period of breaking them in +/- about a week or 2, maybe a little more, they feel great!I would / will order them again, as I like them a lot. Yeah they are a little bit expensive. But if after a year theyre still holding up to how I rough up and wear out sneakers, I will will consider it worth it.They definitely have a Great non-slip sole, and even non-slip insoles, so your feet do not slip around while wearing them (for if you went swimming in them, since that's what they're designed for it makes sense to have a non slip insole). Now at first I thought the toe box was going to be a little too tight, and for a week it seemed that way, and sadly considered returning them to exchange for the wide size, but I had already wore them outside, and figured I'd just deal with it.And I'm glad I kept this size and width, because now they're not tight at all. They fit perfectly, and as you continue to wear them, the full covered rubberized toe guard breaks in and softens up nicely, just give it time.If after 3 weeks or a month they still feel tight well then, maybe you needed the wide version.I plan to buy other colors and styles.Altama might just be my new go to brand for rugged sneakers.

Nice boots
Good fit and comfy. I just wear for short distances though as not used to walking in converse style shoes. Although these have more support than converse. They have some arch support but I put an insoles in too. Very nice.

Good but not perfect
Have used these heavily for work and for play. BLUF: great boat show, good approach shoe, not great beyond that. Does what it is sold for but don’t try do make it something it isn’t.Pros. excellent grip on wet surfaces. River rocks, beach rocks, zodiac floors and tubes, and steel ramps on ships and landing craft. Surprisingly solid sole, that offers great grip and feel when moving on rocky ground, a little like an approach shoe. Moving over rocky ground concealed under grass, at night under NVGs and an assault load these feel like a dream.Cons. Not much padding inThe midsole so not great for prolonged use or heavy loads. The mesh inner is just the right size to collect and capture coarse grain coral sand which will make a mess of your socks and then feet if you aren’t careful. The removable footbed is oddly grippy and makes socks bunch up when you don the shoe. The heel is not quite right; sits too low to prevent debris ingress and to provide much ankle support, but sits right under the Achilles and is, at least for me, a source of chafing after a few hours of movement.

Great for hiking in rivers
I do a lot of fly fishing in the summer when it’s hot and I don’t like wearing waders. I previously used water shoes and toe shoes for standing and hiking in the river all day because they’re very lightweight and make you feel like you’re barefoot while still protecting your feet from sharp rock. I ended up buying new water shoes every 2 months because they’re just not designed for that level of punishment.I bought these ultama’s on the recommendation of a buddy of mine and was highly impressed the very first time I wore them. I went to the most slippery and rocky river (castle river in de Alberta) to see how they would hold up. I also decided to wear no socks to further test comfort. I hiked about a mile in the river to start off. These shoes gripped the rocks like I couldn’t believe. Even when the current took my footing out from me, as soon as I put my foot down to balance, they would grip without fail.I then tried some hybrid hiking through in and out of the water. They would drain as soon as you took the second or third step. I tried walking in some sand bars to see if any sand would get in. Nope.I spent the entire day trying to punish these shoes. From 6:30am to 8:30pm I never once took them off and they did not have a scratch or frayed thread on them.I’m thoroughly impressed and they’re not as clunky as a liking boot. I was surprised at how lightweight they are as well. Came home without any blisters or sore feet. Great product! If you’re still scratching your head about whether or not to buy a pair, just do it.

Calidad
