I had always been a bit nervous trimming my German Sheperds nails. Never tried it until now. These clippers were so easy. The best part is the safety guard to protect the quick nail. They are lightweight, but the blade is sturdy and sharp. My dog returned so I could clip a bit more and even put her paw on my knee. The clipper is accurate, easy to use and sharp. I just clipped a little at a time and the dog did not mind.

Full disclosure: I am NOT the wielder of the dog nail clipper in my household. The tender of the toenails has smaller hands than I do, therefore needs a clipper that works easily and fits in her hands. Also of course, it must not cause the dogs discomfort, cannot obstruct the view of the nail being clipped, and must clip cleanly.We have been through several different clippers. Fancy, expensive and ultimately useless ones that purport to detect the quick, cheapie throwaways, and generally well-constructed ones that simply don't last long or stay sharp for long. Ones with loop-anvil type blades, and ones like this with by-pass, scissor-type blades.This unit is, according to she who clips the nails, "the one true clipper."It fits her hands. It works well.It clips easily and cleanly.I cannot attest to how long it will last or how long it will be before I have to sharpen the blades, but so far so great!

I have always taken my Big Guy to the retail pet store for his nail trims. They usually do a half way decent job. The last time we went I was very disappointed. The person working on him seemed very inexperienced with larger dogs. She kept putting his paw back down on the table after each cut, because she did not lean against him to help him balance himself. This took forever, and when we got home I realized two nails were not even cut. Enough ! I read the reviews on a few different trimmers and ordered the PETGAX . This unit seems very sturdy and very well made. It is comfortable in the hand and very sharp. I cut my 80 lb Lab Mix large nails fast without ripping or pulling. These clippers work very well. Perfect nail clipper for my dog. I have a small dog and i go to groomer for clipping his nail, most of groomer charges $5 for nail clipping. I was looking forward to getting this, but when I went to use it. I had a hard time squeezing the handle, I have a metal pair that's smaller and it's easier to use. Even with my big dogs nails, the metal ones were easier. I'm very bummed, I did research to find the top of the line in clippers . Maybe for some they do work better ? For me, I have week hands. The metal kind was easier for me.

The thought of clipping yogi's (our puppy) nails was scary. I looked at the many products here on Amazon and decided to go with these because of the reviews. I am happy to say that we were stressed for nothing. These clippers made the job so easy. The guard was so helpful!!! The clippers didn't tug on his nails... Cutting the clean and quick. I have not had a chance to use these yet, but from what I can tell they are well-made and have a safety latch to prevent cutting too short and then with problems. I like the grip as I have taken these out of the package to look at them, ready to use when I have help to hold her feet. After I use them, I am hoping I can give a 5-star if they cut well also. So for now, 4 star only because I have not yet used them.

I've purchased many different nail clippers for my cattle dogs over the years and these are definitely worth the money. They are sharp, making trimming their nails quick and easy. They don't require alot of strength and risk of cracking my dog's nails. I actually purchased a second one to keep just in case. 👍
