Transit Maps of the World: Expanded and Updated Edition of the World's First Collection of Every Urban Train Map on Earth

excellent, with a few minor flaws
Excellent atlas covering different transit systems around the world. A few minor gripes:1) Only rail transit systems are covered. That leaves out bus rapid transit systems, which make up the greater part of the transit networks (excluding regular city buses) of cities like Pittsburgh and Ottawa even though those cities have some light rail as well.2) Not all the transit systems that are covered have maps, though then again, there's just too many of those systems to put them all into maps to show in the book.3) As a Montrealer, I noticed 1986 as the start year of the Metro over there. In reality, it started in 1966, in advance of Expo 67 the following year.

Awesome
I found this book at a Trolly Museum near my house. Purchased online since it was a better bargain. Perfect for little train and route lovers.

Love this boom
I bought this book years ago as a gift and fell in love with it... So much so I had to find it again and buy it for myself! It's well laid out and fun to read. Each system is a self contained set of pages, making it an excellent bathroom or coffee table book.

Interesting Book
Great discount for the price, really like the content. The front and back cover of the book was a little dirty and hard to clean.

Fantastic idea and a great start for cosmopolitan perspective.
The maps of the world a quite interesting for adults and children alike. We have many interesting conversations about where have we been and where we'd like to go someday. The subway system makes a great food for thought. The quality of the maps is good as well.

This book is such a great idea.
This book is such a great idea. And for someone who loves to travel, it is perfect to flip through before visiting any one of the many cities included. It would also be a great book to create wall art with the individual maps. There is a typo in the book. Ouch. I have empathy, believe me.

Detailed, organized, solid read
Detailed and organized, the Transit Maps of the World displays a short synopsis of the subway systems around the world. I leave it on the coffee table, and had many guests browse through and compliment the book. If you like transit systems, you'll love this book.

Looking at maps shouldn't be this much fun
My transformation from cool dude into train nerd is almost complete . This is a fascinating look at the urban train systems of "every" city in the world. Some of the maps come with no commentary making them far less interesting to me, and I was surprised at how many cities are expanding their systems (an awful lot of them due for completion next year for some reason), but 90% of the book is one of those where you could lose 15 minutes just looking at a subway map.
