Informative but a bit repetitive
As a sufferer for 39 years from this much of this information I knew but some I didn't like for instance some Parkinson's patients when taking meds develops this disease due to affecting where the medication treats the brain. I believe after reading this my adulthood disease could of been prevented had my mother not been so vindictive and supporting when it appeared in my early childhood years. I hope parents read this an understand this is not something we want and it does not make the sufferer bad, ugly and we don't do it to punish them and by no means is humiliation a tactic for getting someone to stop.

Hoped for HRT Exercises
This book is informative for someone wants to understand the disorder. I am a psychologist who specializes in anxiety, including OCD. I've successfully treated this disorder in the past, but because it has been a few years I wanted to find a list of Habit-Reversal Training exercises. While she mentions these, she only gave a couple of examples. I was hoping for a complete list AND a list that matched the urges and relief that the client experiences. It wasn't there. AND the main link she used...trich.org led to very colorful asian website that looked like a gambling site. I hope she changes that. I was hoping that I could find the HRT exercises I had hoped to see there.

Not bad, but needs to be updated
A decent introduction to trichotillomania, but is in need of updates:-Web urls in the recommendation section have likely changed-Trich is no longer classified as an impulse-control disorder-Include Habitaware bracelets and similar technology in the treatment section

Pages weren't numbered. Didn't tell credentials of author. Had information about Trichotillomania but not helpful in treatment methods. You will not stop pulling out your hair from reading this book. It did however offer some websites that were helpful. All in all I bought it to help and it was worthless title should be changed to what is trichotillmsnia. Which if anyone has it they have already found that information out. It was basically a repeat of what you can find when you research it for free.

Author repeats the same thing throughout the book by rewording it at least to me that’s the way it seemed. Got nothing from the book. IF you know NOTHING about Trichotillmania then maybe you’ll find it interesting.
