I'm very pleased with these slacks. They appear very well made and a terrific value at this price. The material is good strong stuff and the stitching is all reinforced by overstitching or 'serging'. The front button panel drops down to reveal a conventional zipper set up for convenience. The front and rear button layout supports the suspenders offered and I got those as well. I use the slacks for a Revolutionary War militia outfit and they look great. The fit is also good - they seem to run a little big, but I anticipated that.

Love these pants! They look so fabulous. My only issue is that I need a 32 waist, so the small is super tight and the medium is too big. Size chart is accurate. Wish there were more in-between sizes! (There is a cinch in the back, so you can size up, but then the legs are a little baggy.)

Everything is good with the quality of the pants. The problem is the sizing seems to be off from the sizing chart. Mostly waist but also overall fit. I'm having to return them again and try another size. Hopefully this time works.

Despite the fact that it shows buttons in front, it actually has a zipper behind those buttons, which is probably nice and secure but annoying to undo all the buttons then the zipper for bathroom breaks. It also has a back belt thing (which I wish I knew the name of, I usually see them on the back of vests) which helped to fit it to size without a belt or ruining the look. It worked and was very nice. It also had a two button suspender attachment which was authentic to the time and looked great. Very happy with product, very good quality. Not costume quality, real life wear quality. Made to fit high on the waist, as was the style and worked for the high waisted vests/waistcoats of the time. So, perfect authenticity. Would buy again, but probably won't need to, because how often do you need to look like you stepped out of the 1800's. If you answered often... I'm jealous and I need to hear about your life.

Now, it might've been simply because I stretched too far, but these pants ripped, despite me buying them a bit larger than I actually am. There were pretty good for the price though, and looked exactly like the picture and were nice fabric

As others have mentioned, these aren't exactly historically accurate, but the look is close enough for most occasions. Historically accurate pants will be a much heavier wool or cotton fabric and a bit too hot for summer events. Especially here in Florida. But these look good enough to play the part. Be careful of the sizing. According to the chart furnished I should have worn a medium, but I couldn't even zip them up. I retuned them and ordered a large. The large was much bigger with plenty of extra room. Note too that the description says "dry clean only". This is because the pants are 95% cotton and WILL shrink. But I took the chance and washed them in warm water and into the dryer on the perm press setting. And now they fit perfectly. It also seems the "length" listed is the full length from the top of the waist band to the cuff and not just the inseam as most of us are used too. So keep in mind that these are high waisted pants.

The material used is decent quality, but the buckles for the cinch straps are so cheap, they may as well be knives. Just one wear and they essentially cut through the cinch straps.
