This stuff way exceeded my greatest expectations! When I moved into my new place the former owner left their washer and dryer for me. When I opened the closet where they were I was hit with a really intense musty smell of mildew or mold, like something was constantly wet in there. I searched for the smell and was surprised to find it was actually the inside of the washing machine. It's a front loader which was new to me and I thought they must have just continuously left wet clothes in it. After I moved in I started having flooding from a blocked drain pipe behind the washer. Little did I know it was pouring down into my finished basement and I had to have a massive demo and dry out and then a huge remodel done. I got the pipe cleared and assumed that had to be why it was so musty in there. The tear down and rebuild did not fix the smell. I had already tried vinegar and baking soda and bleach and I did look it up and found the seal had very thick black grime all through it. They clearly had never cleaned it. When reading about it it did mention Affresh. It took me a while to order it but now that I did I won't be without it. The black area in the top of the seal that I couldn't scrub off and had been permanently discolored by mold faded far more than I thought possible. The inside of the washer smells great and the inside of the closet is clear of any smell. Luckily all that other major stuff came out of my homeowners insurance and had to be done anyway. That would have been crazy if I went through all of that just because my washing machine was moldy. I am really surprised that it was able to get all the way up under the rubber seal. I was so scared I might have to take it off to clean it because I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to put it back on! I'm 46 and my washer broke in my last house right after I bought it. I ended up paying a lot of extra money for an old style heavy duty one that's made the way they were when I was young. They lasted forever. I brought it to this place with me and when this fancy digital front loading smart washer kicks the bucket (because it will and it probably won't be long) I'll put my top loading washer in there that will last a lifetime (the rest of mine anyway). Until then I'm really happy I found Affresh. The wipes are on their way. I have high hopes. The reviews are great. I also got the dishwasher cleaner and stove top cleaner (which was delivered to me by mistake about a year ago and I haven't tried it yet). This product seems to live up to all the raving reviews!

Our Samsung washer has a self-clean cycle, but I add Affresh each time that cycle is needed. I like to have this extra boost of cleaning for the machine.

This was my first time using. So I read the directions and it said that it was in tablet form. I was confused, because my product was a gritty powder. I thought maybe the packaging was wrong. Turns out the packaging/shipping was poor, so my product was damaged. I'm not sure how much that mattered, but I assume that if its in powder form, it affects the 'slow release' process.Regarding the cleaning ability, I guess it worked ok. The inside of my washer didn't really stink or look dirty, but I'm sure there was hidden residue. So it looks good on the inside. I still need to figure out how to clean the top of the drum (under the lip) because over time it has become dirty. I don't think this product is designed to help clean that area.

Use on a regular basis to keep your washing machine clean and odor free!I'm not convinced that you have to use one tablet a month if you're use He detergent and no fabric softener. Every other month is probably fine.
