Hydroponics: Hydroponic Gardening: Growing Vegetables Without Soil Paperback – October 16, 2015

My husband is into hydroponics. In fact, he already set-up a drip system gardening in our house and I’m proud to say that we were able to harvest lettuce. This book is very helpful especially for beginners who want to give hydroponics’ a try. No big budget and space needed. By growing your own vegetables, fruits and herbs you are assured that what you are eating are rich in minerals and nutrients. Aside from the history and meaning of hydroponics, the book gives you the benefits of setting up hydroponics at your own home. You just have to follow the simple set-up guide stated in the book. Since we’ve tried growing lettuce in our garden, this time we will try to grow herbs like tomatoes, rosemary and basil. I’m looking forward to harvesting the fruits.

I find this book very interesting because you will learn how and why Hydroponic gardening works. It is amazing to know that you can plant without using soil.This book will explain how you can set up and maintain a hydroponic system in your home. Also, the author make a list of fruits, vegetables and herbs can be grown in your garden that you can choose from.This book is useful and enjoyable. Thanks for all the tips and recommendations to start with. This would be very helpful for first timer like me who would like to try Hydroponic Gardening and be successful. Will definitely try this out, the new method of gardening and you might develop a new hobby that will be worthy of your time.Everything now makes sense to me.

This book will explain the basics of hydroponic gardening, which is a method of gardening that grows plants in water instead of soil, with an emphasis on at home applications. The substantial benefits of hydroponic growing are well worth the miniscule effort it takes to rise above the learning curve involved. This book will be good guide book in growing plants inside the room or house without the dirt of the soil. You'll be guided also what are the kinds of plants you will be able to grow using the hydroponics method. This book is a good book for the plant lovers who want a different way of planting / growing the plants oh vegetables

The book gives a high level overview of different approaches to hydroponics. The more clear title to this book would be "Introduction to hydroponics for beginners". The book is not a complete hydroponics handbook because it is not very detailed.The section that was most useful to me are the common problems that happen to plants - spots, curling leaves, etc and what to check when you see this happen. A section on lighting and temperature were useful. The book has few illustrations and no diagrams for DYI.Ali Julia review

This book is so basic that it was of no use. I am interested in hydroponics, but haven't tried any gardening in this form yet, so I expect any book on hydroponics to be instructive. This book really didn't offer me anything. I am surprised that there were no instructional pictures (set-ups, etc). The only few photos in the book have no captions, and have no value in terms of explaining concept or technique. The book was not expensive, and perhaps it meets the posted description, but I am shocked at the high-star ratings by other readers, since it is so elementary. Because of its low cost, I did not return it, but I also will never look at it a second time and will not recommend it to anyone. My rating of two stars is intended to convey the question, "What was the point of writing this book?"

I was expecting more vegetable plant specific hydroponics requirement. I.E. which technique for which vegetable, plant specific hydroponics nutrient requirements, ideal ph, ec meter requirements/ranges for which vegetables so I could group the vegetable & provide the correct nutrient balance for optimal growing sucess.

Good book but, somewhat basic.

they made a big effort to make this book fill out a lot of pages. Oversized type, huge spaces between paragraphs. Over simplistic generalities like"some plants don't do well in full flood" with not hints about which ones and some plants require lower / higher Ph with no hints about which plants.In general it's trumped up and offers very little solid guidance.
