Good
I have bought the Lily of The Desert Aloe Vera Gel 16 oz (Pack of 2) a number of times, and it's a good product. I know some people drink this, and it doesn't taste bad as I have tasted it before, but I use it primarily for my hair as a pre-poo before washing. It works well in helping me add moisture and detangle my hair as I prepare it for a wash. So for me, it works well, and I would recommend it.If you want this for consumption, I would say just go buy the plant if you can and prepare it yourself—this way, it's fresh.

A man's best friend if he has kidney stones
My husband gets stone after stone. Its not a pleasant thing to watch him suffer when he tries to pass it. My mother-in-law recommended he try Aloe Vera Gel. When the pain starts and he knows he has one moving around he mixes it with tea, juice or anything he wants. It doesn't change the taste of his drink but the gel provides a smooth coating that enters the kidney. The stone is moved along more gently and easily with the coating carrying it along and out. It still hurts to pass a stone don't get me wrong but this in conjunction with some pain med (Ibuprofen or whatever the doctor gave you) will certainly ease the process. The stone may not pass the first time he drinks it ( It moves for a little while but becomes lodged again, for instance) so he waits until the next time he feels it moving and uses the Aloe Vera Gel again. Anyone who has a history of kidney stones knows it can be a long process. He swears by this Gel. It has a side effect of additional benefits to the digestive and immune systems. I would highly recommend it.

Awesome!
I prefer to use this on my skin & natural hair. I have very sensitive skin & 3C/4A hair. This has worked beautifully on both. My skin & hair is hydrated as heck! Lol. I do believe it has boosted in fading my scars & locking in moisture in my hair!

Great for postpartum padsicles!
I purchased this aloe gel because it was recommended by someone that made a tutorial for padsicles on youtube. The gel is a thin consistency making it very easy to spread onto the pad. I used about a tablespoon each and witch hazel on top and then froze them. The padsicles were very soothing because of the aloe gel and stayed cold for about 10 minutes. I still have some leftover which I will be using for sunburns. I also tasted the gel since it is also supposed to be a supplement and it was sour and didn't taste very good so I don't recommend it like that. I would repurchase for topical use!

Great Moisturizer, Tastes Horrible, May Irritate Some Skin Types - A LOT
First of all, there appears to be a problem differentiating this product from Lily of the Desert Inner Fillet, a dietary supplement. That may be because there is no difference, perhaps just a difference in packaging, but it there IS, it may explain my problem with this product. THIS is what I ordered. What I got was the 16 oz version of this: "Lily of the Desert Organic Aloe Vera Juice Inner Fillet -- 32 fl oz," shown at the following address.http://www.amazon.com/Lily-Desert-Organic-Juice-Fillet/dp/B005P0SYWG/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1354196085&sr=1-1&keywords=lily+of+the+desert+inner+filletI have been looking for pure aloe to drink, work through my hair - real aloe provides amazing protection against split ends - and apply directly to the skin of my face and body. REAL, pure aloe is a fantastic, natural moisturizer. Applying it to razor burn clears up irritation in a day or so, and it works wonders healing scrapes, cuts, and burns. Should be a part of any first aid kit,If you MUST have a gel,"Lily Of The Desert Aloe Vera Gel" is not bad. Provides immediate soothing relief. For some reason, though, on many people it will inflame the skin somewhat - and just temporarily - for a little while after application, especially on the face, neck, and shoulders. It still FEELS great going on, but SOMETHING about it causes a reaction in some people, including myself, which is why I switched to George's, a 100% pure aloe liquid alternative. I still use Lily of the Dessert to smooth my knees, legs, elbows, etc. As a gel it works better as something to rub in in greater quantity, so more is absorbed. But it WAS disappointing that I wasn't able to use this as my primary facial moisturizer. Generally speaking, it's bad if something turns your skin BEET red, even if only for an hour or so. I figure my body just doesn't like the stuff. Maybe it's the citric acid preservative? As an alternative, I HIGHLY recommend "George's Aloe Vera Aloe Vera Liquid." It IS a liquid, so you'll be disappointed if you were hoping for a gel, but it tastes AWESOME, like tap water, and doesn't cause any irritation. It's incredibly soothing on dry skin and scrapes, though a little messier to apply than a gel alternative. Luckily it's entirely colorless and so is unlikely to stain. If you were hoping to drink the stuff, DEFINITELY go with George's. Lily of the Desert tastes AWFUL.
