Not completely awful. Just mostly
It’s not the worst figure ever made. If you can find one cheaply sure, it makes a nice display piece. It blends well in an SH Figuarts collection. In terms of design engineering and quality, the figure while looking nice is way substandard for its Msrp.Articulation is there. It moves. Nothing great. I think Hasbro Legends are better articulated. The main joints are plastic and squeak and bind. Sculpt is superb. Paint finish is crisp with sharp edges, but the paint texture is lacking something. It’s a bit too matte. It doesn’t shine like it should. Allowable on a plastic toy but inexcusable on a die cast figure. The light up feature is awkward and flat out does not work on mine. I can get no power to the leds. The stand lights up nicely st least. The accessories are both great and incredibly frustrating. They include a ton of replacement armor panels with battle damage. These would or should be fantastic (in spite of the fact that the Iron Patriot suit takes no damage on screen. They are clearly just repainted of the War Machine battle damage) but once you replace armor panels they fall off constantly. Especially the face plate. The stand is kind of cool, although the claw is this huge grey grabber that looks awful. The shoulder cannon would be great, but there is a glaring and ugly screw and screw hole right in the unavoidable front facing.I don’t want to seem like I am ragging on the figure... oh heck yes I do. It’s not good. For the price just spend a little more and hunt down the BandaiSH Figuarts Iron Patriot And War Machine. You will be much much happier.

Diecast Iron Patriot. Iffy construction
This is part of a short series of figures that Play Imagination released before becoming Comicave Studios. There is a dramatic difference in quality between these figures and the newer comicave figures.ProsHeavy, is certainly made from diecast materialSwap out battle damage piecesLeds are bright (eyes and chest), switch it out of the way and easy to get to.Paint is high quality and has a nice metal suit vibe going onBattery compartment is nicely designed (battery was already in my unit)Shoulder pieces are separate from the arms, makes it easy to have a realistic poseConsLimited Ab crunch (Solid ab piece)The replaceable pieces become loose very quickly. The pivot on the gun is very loose, hard to pose.No bicep swivelThe pelvic piece doesn't stay on very well. I'll be re-gluing it back onHead barely lifts (no way to do flight pose)Wrist joints are very exposed

Face popped off but still a great figure.
I really love this figure. My only problem is the face mask kept falling off until finally I had to glue it on permanently. A couple of the other pieces have popped off when trying to position him. It's a bit annoying but still an excellent figure. Love the light up feature!Update: a few more pieces have popped off when moving the figure around. The left leg has become very loose and the shoulder canon has become loose as well. I'm not sure if the manufacturer's intention was it to be posed once and left alone. I like to repose every so often. This figure seems a bit too fragile for that plus it seems limited in poses possible compared to other . 3 stars dropped down from 4.

but I don't recommend any of these as a serious offering at all
This is why this company went out of business and Comicave took the reigns. This and the War Machine MkII of the same mold are just a train wreck compared to later offerings. Shotgun and Shades are halfway there, but I don't recommend any of these as a serious offering at all.It seems like the elbows were supposed to be double-jointed, but it looks like they gave up when they realized they could get the salute out of just one, so one of the joints was glued shut(?!)The parts-swapping bits are poorly toleranced and the face keeps falling off. And the body of the one I bought for my son doesn't even stay together at the waist. The Mark II I received seems to have been glued together so the battery cannot be replaced... It's all just shady business. The red lining of the eyes and arc reactor was a questionable choice to boot, even more so on the Mark II.Mind you, Comicave made this all better with the later releases... but these are not Comicave; not even close.Pay the extra for the figuarts of this armor.

It's a pretty good figure
It's a pretty good figure, though it doesn't have the quality I was hoping for. I have other diecasts in this scale by Comiccave and they are definitely better figures (though they might not articulate quite as well). However, for an Iron Patriot figure, if you can get him in diecast at a decent price... it might be worth it.

Very poor quality, the left arm broke with a very poor plastic hinge. The legs joints are loose with right legs twisting by itself. Don't buy!It is adult owned and only for display and not for play. With this quality even for just posing for display it just breaks!

This figure looks good but the left arm and leg is loose
This figure looks good but the left arm and leg is loose. But sculpt wise an impressing piece just not happy with the joints.
