Nice and compact
Ordered a few of these to place in some areas with no wall switch. They have worked great. Programming was easy and they have enough range to operate the lights I needed to operate via my existing X10 receivers. Easily 30 feet plus a wall or 2 to the receiver. Very thin and don't look like something stuck on the wall until you are right on top of them loking from the side. Will please those that require things to look built-in and not patched on.

Very Convenient
Pretty easy to just stick up a switch where you want it. Seem pretty reliable, the one I put on the patio seemed to get a little less reliable but it still works, just doesn’t always work on the first casual press. Interior application has worked great for many years. Great battery life.

x-10 switch is great
I have one X-10 switch already to turn on room lights. I wanted a second unit for another location. They are very convenient, and look nice. So much simpler than my WiFi switches.

Good luck!
With X10 products you need some measure of luck. When they work, they are excellent. Change what's plugged in near the transmitter or receiver, it might stop working. These switches worked pretty well the first day but not after that. In the future I might use it in a different way and with luck, it will work.Update: It works now.

Works perfectly
I've used X-10 products for years. Needed this additional switch on my wife's side of the bed. As usual it was a quick installation and all is well. X-10 is good, cheap automation. The negative reviews here I believe are from folks who are trying to get X-10 to do things they weren't designed to do -- usually that translates to range issues, bad programming or a bad transceiver.

Terrific
Works good. Need to know it only works for consecutive units. As in A1,A2,A3 or if you change first switch to A7 you get A7,A8,A9. Not individually programmable. Not a problem for me in my deal. I didn't use the double sided tape. Too many had a problem with it. I opened up the unit and marked where the circuit board is and drilled and put white top screws in it in three places. NOT top left side as you see it in the picture as the board is there, but not in other corners. Suggest only experts try this. Love the switch. Just painted the room and didn't want to run wire to a new regular switch that will rarely be used.

Good Without Digging in the Walls
I have an Insteon home, but there were a few places where I didn't want to dig into the switch boxes. In those sites, I needed a product that could go on the wall like a normal switch. There is no equivalent product in the Insteon world. So I got a few of these very inexpensive switches and a costly EZX10RF unit to translate their signals to Insteon codes for the powerline. These switches work as advertised and I've had no issues with range. They are a little finnicky about how long you hold the button while programming them. Also, they don't seem to have non-volatile memory, so if the battery runs out or is removed you'll have to re-set the house code and number. But it's not a long or difficult procedure. The battery is a CR2026 watch battery, the same as taken by many car fobs these days. Available at any Radioshack. The switches are a little on the white side for my aesthetic sensibilities but don't look overly cheap and don't stick out too far. The adhesive pads they come with are fine.

Too intermittent to be of much use.
Ordered this yesterday. Arrived this morning! Prime is great -- unlike this switch. I'm using it with the X10 RR501 (converts wireless signal to power line signal) to try to control the X10 light switch in my attic for the attic light.First I can't set any house code other than A. So I set the unit code OK and moved on.It worked the first time and then intermittently thereafter. With the RR501 in the attic and the wireless switch on the first floor, it won't work at all. I will try moving the RR501 downstairs.Too bad; this would have been an ideal alternative to fishing wires in the walls.
