High quality Knife set at affordable price
Overall, this is a high-quality set of knives at an affordable price. Inside the package is a note from the creators. One can see that a lot of care went into the knives. Each knife was individually wrapped; the covered in plastic to prevent scratches, the blade covered by cardboard and at the tip of each blade is a small plastic insert to protect the blade from puncturing the shipping material. Real attention to detail in my opinion. The appearance of the knives is stunning! Along with the thickness and sharpness of the blades makes this a truly awesome addition to my kitchen. Additionally, the scissors are what takes this set over the top.Pro’s:-The color of the handles. Even though walnut is the listed type, they have a sight reddish appearance, almost a “cherry” color, which is a fabulous look.-Very Sharp blades. Was able to cut newspaper like butter. Each blade performing flawlessly.-Handle Grip – Well thought out curved shape of the handle that aligns with the hand making them very comfortable to hold.-Heavier than other cutlery sets I’ve used. They don’t bend as easily, making them stronger. They have a solid piece of metal from the tip to the end of the stock, however, they are much thicker, making them even more durable. The steak knife metal is 1/16” thick and the larger items including the scissors are 1/8” thick.-Steak Knives: The serrated cutting edge has wider tip to tip width (1/8th inch); wider than more common steak knives.-The wooden base is wider than other knife sets holders I’ve used, making it a more stable base. The set weighs approx. 10 pounds.-Looking online, other knife sets are easily 300.00 dollars. I think that this is an affordable set where quality was not sacrificed. For approx. $4.21 per item, I am very confident that this set will last a very long time.-The scissors: This is the one item that sets these apart from other cutlery sets. They are approx. 10” long, spring loaded to open and very sharp. They will cut whatever cooking needs one has. I have cut fruit off the tree; my wife has cut chicken and pork bones with them. The blade is extremely long making this item very versatile. It’s like having garden shears for the kitchen. A stunning look and extremely versatile item in the set.-My wife has used some of the knives to carve fruit. The smaller slicing and pairing knives have been useful at carving the layers of skin off a watermelon. Each knife performs its function well. My wife is extremely impressed with these knives.Con’s:-While purchasing, there was one type of wood selection; which is “Walnut”. This is very nice color; however, the Amazon add appears to show a more ‘reddish’ color. The wooden block is truly a walnut color, while the knife handles are all more cherry color in appearance. I prefer the “cherry” appearance and would have liked the entire set to have that color. I suggest that the amazon or other adds show the true color of the block for the color being offered. Notice within the picture of the color variance between the advertisement and the actual items. I would even suggest staining the block with a more reddish tint to match the handles and selling that as a color variant. The steak knives: While they cut great, the individual blade points are a little further apart than other standard steak knives. This causes the cut to be a little less smooth. The meat gets a little more torn while cutting.

A must buy!!
First of all, I have to say that I have bought 5 knife sets in my whole life, and all of them have lasted me a lot, except the previous one, which was a nice view set with a glass block, but the grip was hiding the awful truth of a bad quality knife (Almost no blade inside the grip), and lasted me less than a year. That was the first thing I noticed with this set, the blade has a good thickness, and is visible through the grip (I'm not going to buy again a knife set with a grip hiding the blade), the weight is good, not too light and not too heavy, the blades are really sharp, and the sharpener is good enough.About the knifes I have tested all of them and must say my appreciations from an amateur point of view:1. Chef's knife: I'm in love with this one, is the heaviest of all for obvious reasons, but I have worked a lot with it and I'm not getting tired, good curvature and the angle of the blade is good for chopping, I normally use the santoku for chopping, but the angle of this one invited me to use it a bit more for it, it is perfect to get good slices of meat and turkey (Second pic).2. Santoku: The veggies expert, is the one I love to get small slices of veggies and meat, it is very accurate for that kind of tasks, normally is my favorite in the kitchen, but now this baby shares that spot with the chef's knife.3. Bread knife: I have tested it with baguette and cake and passed the test, personally this is an almost unused knife in my kitchen, but it is needed in a knife set.4. Carving knife: Good length and angle, the tip is perfect to rise that particular spots in the meat, good to take off the fats and nerves from the meat, and good for slicing big fruits.5. Utility: Nice for small veggies and peeling, but be careful with the blade, is the most underestimated, but it have given me some minor cuts.6. Paring knife: Not the most loved for me, I believe is too small and is only good for peeling small veggies and good for small hands (As you can see in the third pic), but my wife loves it, so it depends on your hand's size.7. Scissors: I'm not so excited about the scissors, tbf I have a couple of chicken scissors and are better than this one, I expected more from it, they are too heavy and the opening angle is too wide, they have a good grip, but they are designed only for big hands, so they are perfect for me, but my wife can't use them (You can see the opening angle in the last pic).8. Steak knives: Great knives, I have some serrated knives from tramontina which are my favorites for steaks, but I gave it a try last week and were perfect, I love the cut from these knives instead of the serrated, because I love the clean cut and they are sharp enough for that particular duty.9. The block and the sharpener are just OK, but they are good for the price. The overall quality has surprised me so far, 15 pc set is just enough, the 19 pc set has 2 more small knives (Bread and santoku) and I don't think they will be as useful as the big ones, the only thing I like from the 19pc set is the sharpener rod which I believe is better than the integrated sharpener from this one, but it was not enough to give it a try.

Very sturdy knives
I ordered black set. I got gray. They looks cool though. One knife has a flaw, not a show stopper. Wood block was full of sawdust. But the knives are a great set. Sturdy made from good materials. Bet they will last a long time.

Nice balance, full tang
I bought this set 6 months ago for my oldest son, whom is very particular. He was super impressed with the weight, balance, grip, sharpness, and a full tang! Very well crafted and a nice heavy block. Last week I was talking with a coworker about knives and shared the link. I had been itching to get myself a set. I was going on 8 years with my current set. To my surprise these knives were being offered with a nice coupon discount AND BOGO for free! Yes, I ordered two more sets. My daughter and I both have a set now. All the pieces are extremely sharp and make an impressive display on the counter. I highly recommend you folks purchase this set.

A great Christmas gift.
I got this for my mother in law to replace her old collection of dull knives particularly because it comes with a sharpener. This set looks elegant and of course they're sharp. In the hand, these do not look or feel cheap. I got to use them on the Christmas turkey and they did WORK!
