Very informative and its got things that are practical. The suggestions to build your v.s. buying is wonderful. Its good to be prepared and this book helps

I liked this book for several reasons. First it was easy to read and had a good progression. Secondly it did not talk down to beginners in Bugging out it explained why you needed to do things to get you gear ready. Lastly the author was not full of himself on the subject. My only complaint with this book was the lack of pictures of the equipment that was talked about. I am familiar with some of it but not all of it so for a tyro illustrations would be nice addition to the text. If you are looking for a starting place this would be as good as any place to begin.

I thought the book was good until I read the recommendation to use cotton for all layers of clothing. I live in the north and the saying here is 'cotton kills'. When cotton clothing gets wet from the elements or your own perspiration cotton loses its insulating properties and actually cools by evaporation, a sure recipe for hypothermia. Preferred materials would be wool or synthetic material such polypropylene or polyester.

This guy promotes testing your bag which is great but he has obviously never done it himself. Telling the readers to wear cotton sock and jeans. Have you ever walked over a mile with them on? Blister city. First he says you don't need a compass or tent. Then in the end her recommends then. Canned goods. Really! Glad this book was free but I wish I could get my time back.

Very good information to use, helps to think about what you would need.

Awesome book!!

Not a very good book

If your brand new to the prepper movement or just exploring the concepts this book would be a place to start. Especially since its currently free. I'm relatively new to the term but found nothing exciting.

This is the best book for BOB. It is a good book to get you thinking about being prepared or if you think you know it all.
