Q: Just bought these and I’m wondering if they are suppose to smell thus bad. Nearly gagged when I opened the package

I'm going to disagree with the other answers here. I've purchased sheep casings many times before and have NEVER smelled anything like what I smelled when I opened these sheep casings last night. I didn't almost gag, I gagged. It was terrible. I don't know what the deal is with these casings, but I know my family wouldn't have eaten sausages stuffed into these casings and neither would I, no matter how much soaking they went through.

Q: Did these have an expiration date on the packaging?

I really can't remember if they have an expiration date. But you can freeze them and they will last a couple of years.
