Great Product with a Consistent Flaw
I love this product. This time I bought the flexible cover and like it even more as it is easier to pack since I travel for a living. The ruled version is better for my purposes, and the perforation of each page is something that Moleskin should have realized years ago. The ability to keep notes, but also to give notes or tear out unsightly or damaged pages makes this product leaps ahead of any other journal I've tried. Now here is my beef, and I hope Ecosystems will see this. I have had about 10 of these since I started using them. Every...single...one of them have the same problem in that the elastic band that holds the book together comes unglued within the first month of using it. I keep single-portion super glues handy and have gotten good at fixing them. C'mon guys, don't scrimp on the glue! Improve the product where the band holds together until I'm ready for the next one.

Darn - strap broke immediately
I was really excited about this product- a Moleskin replacement made from recycled paper. I took it to one meeting and wrote one page of notes, and my excitement continued- the ink doesn't bleed through the pages, and it opens well to write in. I took it out this morning to get ready for a second meeting, and discovered that the strap had broken. This is the strap that is supposed to hold it closed- the adhesive had stopped working, and one side had come undone. I tried to staple it, but that didn't look good or work, so I pulled it out of the other side- it came out surprisingly easily, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone who used a little force accidentally had this problem too. But, I didn't use any force- it broke while it was sitting in my purse inside, not in a hot car or any other situation that would cause adhesive to deteriorate.I'll still continue to use it, because its a really nice notebook and it doesn't have a spiral binding (which bother me) but I won't be paying this much for a replacement once I fill mine up.

Disappointing - Ribbon/band/marker falls out.
In an attempt to reduce my cost and from the recommendation of others, I decided to try the Ecosystem brand for my journals and note taking. I like the Flexi cover and the quality of the paper (especially the perforated pages). However, what I found is that after basic daily use (I do keep one with me in my messenger bag), the ribbons always fall out of the binding and the 'ribbon'/band that keeps the journal closed comes out. I switched to these from Moleskine (cost) but cost is relative if the product doesn't meet the need or expectation of the user. I cannot recommend these for daily use unless you intend to tear out the pages (scan into Evernote or OneNote) and toss. This review is based on the use of multiple Ecosystem journals.

Soo superior to Moleskine notebooks
How are Ecosystem notebooks superior to Moleskine notebooks? Funny you should ask. Here are some of your answers:1) Ecosystem is an American company made by American workers in the US of A2) Ecosystem notebooks are made of 100% post-consumer content which means they are good for the Earth3) Every single page in an Ecosystem notebook is fully perforated so it can easily be torn out.4) Ecosystem notebooks are about half the price of Moleskine notebooks5) Ecosystem notebooks come in many awesome colors6) Ecosystem notebooks are very high quality (shockingly so considering they are made from recycled fiber)I will never use another brand of notebook. There are several sizes and types to choose from. I use them at work and at home. Highly recommended.

Pretty good.
Decent. Good, flexible cover. Pretty good price. Not the best for fountain pens but not the worst. Wet fountain pen nibs will feather like crazy. Medium ghosting and some bleed through with wet inks/nibs. Rhodia is much better for fountain pens but also much more expensive.

Disappointing journal performance.
I was initially drawn to the ecosystem journal because it was the same size as the Moleskine that I've used in the past but with the bonus feature of perforated paper throughout. The perforated pages are ideal in situations where you'd like to scan notes. I often make meeting notes and then remove them for a nice, clean scan to Dropbox or Evernote for archiving and indexing. So, what's the rub? The elastic band and the page marker have failed in every one I've owned. The glue fails, the band comes loose and it's simply impossible to repair. Buy a Moleskine unless you absolutely need the perforated pages or you simply don't give a rip about the elastic bands failing.

the folder in the back ripped and the feel isn't as nice. Knowing that it is still a decent product
Moleskin knockoffs that don't hold up as well as the original. The rubber band that wraps the notebook broke off, the folder in the back ripped and the feel isn't as nice. Knowing that it is still a decent product, but I would rather have the original.

elastic band will break
These are nice and serve their purpose well, but this is the second time I buy one and the elastic strap pops off within a week or two of use. Superglue repair did not work. Don't buy if you want the elastic band to hold your notebook shut -- otherwise these are great

I'm a writer. This is the notebook I use.
The size is perfect. The paper is thick enough to take ink and highlighters (unlike moleskins, which fine for pencil users). And it feels good to hold and flick through.

Really like this notebook
Really like this notebook. Great size (I went for medium) and quality pages and cover. Big selling point for me is each page is perforated to allow easy removal for scanning and filing.
